This is a tragedy for college football. :(

Having said that Whoooooooo Motha [expletive] Hooooooooo.

The City of Dallas and UT are going to go 15 rounds over this shit and both are going to come out looking like a drunk girl at the wrong party.

Oklahoma gets to sit back and watch the mud fly while reaping all the bennifits.

It's a damn shame that Texass with all its wealthy alumni can't find and hire a competent Athletic Director with the ability to see past the school's immediate pocket book.

OU is going to come out of this smelling like 2 dozen freshly cut roses when the national media, especially ESPN, get done with this.

Oklahoma is going to play six games a season in Norman regardless of texass decision.

Georgia, Arkansas, and to some extent Notre Dame are about to crap their pants because The ball-less bevo cult just sheeit the golden key to texass recruiting out its ass for them. All three have already expressed interest in a little shin dig with Oklahoma in in the DFW area, either at "Jerra World" or the Cotton Bowl if texass goes pansy.

Every time texass takes a step forward... they attempt to cut off their lead foot.

perhaps FJ can remedy the situation after all he can do everything else? Perhaps FJ can just build a new stadium with all the money he is going to get as the greatest pro football player evah???

It's also rather sad that they have to bring OU to Austin to help pay for stadium renovations as well. I mean to hear vito tell it Oklahoma is vastly inferior to Texass yet we just finished a more expensive expansion and renovation than Texass is comitted to. OU did all that with only donor money, turned down state matching funds, and had money left over to boot.

I'm taking a wait and see to this before I slit my wrist. There are strong proponents in both schools that are lined up on both sides of this issue.

The Dallas Alumni want to keep it in Dallas, the Houston, Alumni are split, the Austin Alumni and many of the Austin area businesses that support the program are putting considerable pressure on the school to move the game to Austin.

Dodds is trying to dance around both sides, no matter what he does he is going to piss a lot of people off.

Don't think the OU AD isn't feeling the same pressure.

My guess is the two ADs have gotten together to play "good cop/bad cop" with the City to make sure they get the best deal possible.

The Texas athletic dept has a budget of 80 million and not one penny comes from the tax payer.

Yeah I know Oklahoma has a budget of 74.6 million and not only does it not accept any money from the tax payer (that by law it is entitled to in Oklahoma) but it also funds the Oklahoma University Library System. But then again you would be aware of this if you paid any attention to the threads of ass whoopings you receive that spill over to other forums.
I'm taking a wait and see to this before I slit my wrist. There are strong proponents in both schools that are lined up on both sides of this issue.
Could you please point these people out on the OU side because outside of the Campus Corner contingency of about a dozen businesses, most resteraunts, there aren't any on our side. OU's big money is pushing the ship to Dallas which is why Joe C. comitted to Dallas back in January. Hell we are pushing for a different oppenant in Dallas if Texass is too pansy to bring their asses to the showdown. Oklahoma has the balls to play real compition year in and year out. I bet your going to love seeing "The Oklahoma Invitational" every year in your own state as we make history with various other big name oppenents that aren't affraid to step to the field like men.
The Dallas Alumni want to keep it in Dallas, the Houston, Alumni are split, the Austin Alumni and many of the Austin area businesses that support the program are putting considerable pressure on the school to move the game to Austin.

All those wealthy donors and none of them can afford to ante up for stadium expansion. Oklahoma has to be brought in with its cape and play "Captain save a ho" to Oklahoma Alumnus Memorial Stadium. It's almost fitting that Oklahoma is about to be brought in to ensure the structure named after our Alumni to be fixxed for tejass.
Dodds is trying to dance around both sides, no matter what he does he is going to piss a lot of people off.
I think the thread title sums the response to this statement. If only you had an AD with a pair.
Don't think the OU AD isn't feeling the same pressure.
I don't think... I know he isn't. The game being moved from Dallas has been very unpopular in OKlahoma and to Sooners. We enjoy whooping your ass in your own state on a regular basis.
My guess is the two ADs have gotten together to play "good cop/bad cop" with the City to make sure they get the best deal possible.
My guess is that if you detatched the pipe from your lips for a couple of minutes a day your perspective on the world might atleast resemble something realistic.

You would have to go to a game during and at the state fair of Tejas to understand why it needs to stay in the Cotton bowl Shaz.

THey also have an option on 2k11.

LIke I said, my opinion is this was a ploy to get Dallas to make a final commitment to make the stadium what it should be. Also look for the Cotton bowl to make a big push to become the 5th BCS bowl.

Earth to Vito... The fifth BCS Bowl was already decided upon. The BCS Bowls came to the conclusion that there wasn't another Bowl that had the tradition and facilities to warrent a 5th Bowl and added a "National Title" game top be played at one of the 4 current BCS Bowls a week after the the other bowls.

Does the Cotton bowl have the tradition? Of Course.
Does it have the facilities? Not right now but after the renovations it will.

No one figures it would be considered for the 5th BCS bowl at this point. The one thing that is sure is that they would like to expand to a 5th bowl in either Texas, the great Lakes area, or New England.

Uhh, who is they? I don't hear anything about having a bowl game in the Great Lakes or New England. Hell, I have lived in New England for a short period of time and they wouldn't support it for crap! I bought tickets from the stadium ticket office for a BC v Miami game a few years ago just minutes before kick. Further, where would they play this game? Gillete, Ford Field? No one wants another indoor bowl game.

As for the OU v Texas game in Dallas I think Dodds should get mucho credit. He held out and took the heat from OU and Texas fans alike, but in the end got things at least started on renovating that piece of crap soccer stadium.

WHAT? Dallas isn't doing anything more than they have already planned for the last two years. Nothing, absolutly nothing, has changed. Dallas has promised nothing more than what was on the table last month, the month before, and the 22 months prior. The same bond initiatives that were planned to be voted on are still going to be voted upon. So you are applauding a man for holding out for nothing?
