Does your team have a draft sleeper?

Post by PSUFAN »

For PSU - Scott Paxson. He was a very underrated DT for PSU, he's got good size and a good motor, and he's incredibly difficult to block due to his short legs and low center of gravity. I think wherever Scott ends up, he'll gain a roster spot and develop into a really good NFL player.

Having watched Steeler drafts year after year, I am well aware of the roles that underrated players can come to take on well-coached NFL teams. The Steelers are particularly good at that.

Sadly, yes. Eric Bassey. The man Sooner fans love to hate is an NFL prototype. Ditto with Chee - O, but he's not really a sleeper.

Unfortunately, sleepers are all CU has. I guess Bloom's gotten some minor run, but he hasn't played there in 2 years. I can see both Klopfenstein and Sypniewski getting drafted in the middle rounds. Colorado TEs always seem to make it in the pros. Vickers could make it as a FB/power back. He is a decent blocker, strong runner, and has nice hands out of the backfield. Punter John Torp will sign with somebody as a free agent.

Bloom just worked out for the Steelers. I guess they see him as a return man.

Don't the Steelers have some sort of obscure team bylaw that requires them to draft at least one Buff per year?

Yes, they had to do so to rectify the debacle known as Kordell...

Gabe Watson could be a productive pro if he puts the work in...I suppose he'd be a sleeper right now since he's not highly rated. Jason Avant could be a solid possession receiver in the NFL.

I think David Thomas is the biggest sleeper, he is going to do for someone what Todd Christiansen did for the Raiders. I think he will go somewhere in the late 3rd early 4th but he will prove to be the best of all the TE drafted today.

Just my opinion.

Dan Stevenson. He was drafted by the Patriots in the early 6th round. He's a little smallish for an offensive lineman, but he'll be going into a similar system to the one he had last year at ND.

I seriously thought Jaxon Appel would have been a late round sleeper. He is a lot like George Lynch. Never got drafted though.

John Lynch. My bad.

Wasn't George Lynch a basketball player for North Carolina?

Jeff King, TE, 5th round to the Panthers.

Not flashy or the greatest athlete, but has great hands and always seemed to be open in the red zone.

Eric Smith could be a very good NFL safety for the Jets if he can avoid injuries. He couldn't at MSU, which is why I'm surprised he went as highly as he did. He's a real smart player, reads defenses well and can hit hard.

Domata Peko should wind up being more than a servicable tackle for Cincy.
