SNC 2005 Playoffs (Semifinals)

Post by Shoalzie »

Welcome to the Semifinals of the SNC 2005 Playoffs!

The four winners from the quarterfinals will compete within their respective conferences with the top player from this round in each conference advancing to the finals. Participants in this round will pick the winner of each series in the conference final round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They will also predict the length of each series as well as rank their series winners in order of confidence (most-to-least). These confidence picks will count towards this round's scores. In the event of tie, the participant with the highest seed will advance.

SCORING
Correct series winner = 10 pts.
Correct series length (series winner must be correct) = 5 pts.

Confidence Picks
Most confident (#1) = 6 pts.
Least confident (#2) = 3 pts.

Picks must be sent to me via private message or e-mail. My e-mail address is shoalzie@yahoo.com

No late entries will be accepted

ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, May 19 @ 8:30 p.m.

Good luck!

A note to the semifinalists...the Cup Finals will start next Monday. The format is different for the finals...you pick the score and winner for each game but you still pick the winner of the series and the length before the series starts.

A new thing I've added to the finals has a bit of a fantasy hockey angle. Each game, you pick a player who you think will perform well that night. You'll get a point for each goal and assist they earn...you get 2 bonus points if your player gets the GWG in regulation and 3 for a GWG in OT. You get a 5 point bonus if your player gets a hat trick. The only catch is you can't pick the same player twice in the series. You'll have to pick up to 7 different players depending on the length of the series.

So the things I'll be expecting with your entry is the usual series winner and length (Oilers in 6, Hurricanes in 7, etc.) and before each game, I want you prediction of the final score of the game and your 'pick to click'. You get 5 points for if you pick the correct winner of the game and you get 3 bonus points if you're the closest to the final score.

I'll detail this more when the Eastern series wraps up tonight or Thursday night.

I'll post the official results later today but it looks like a MuchoBulls-Joey Moss final. You guys have all weekend to make your picks for the series but remember to make your game picks before puck drop of each game.
