I just never knew that Hefeweizens were considered a gay beer,...untill that is, I started reading "Dinsdales Beer Diaries".

I imagine like Che himself, Dins rode from Micro brewery to micro B. on the back of a motorcycle driven by some leather clad guy who loved wheat beer. Only after the fact did Dins find out that his partner in beer wanted a partner and thus his disdain for the fine drink that is wheat beer.

Hoegaarden is the shit. Liefmans is even better.

Rather wheat beer than weak beer.

I introduced Atomic Punk to Hoegaarden on tap at a pub in Philly.
It is now one of his favorite beers. Excellent beer.

I paid $11.75 for a 6 of this tonight:

$10 a six ain't shit. Especially considering that $10 gets out of your hand pretty quick in a bar.

Over here, it's $6.21 a pint, which means you don't chug it. Having it served in a glass the weight and thickness of a decanter helps, too.

Liefmans Kriek is fucking gorgeous. It's a sour cherry beer that's so strong, they're not allowed to serve it in pint glasses. The raspberry version is lovely too. Definately an acquired taste, though.

I just wish I could find it in the 64 oz. growler like they used to sell it. The 12 oz bottles are decent. But with the growler, that unfiltered homebrew experience would really make itself known. And as long as you redeemed the growler for deposit, it was one of the best beer values to be found @ under $5 for 64 oz's of decent suds.

And I told you staight-up FACT.

It's sad to see a once-proud hetero like Tramp going down this road, but apparently, the closet doors just weren't strong enough to hold him back. Oh well, life goes on. I'll just sit here and thank my lucky stars that I'm not a fucking homo...like Trampis.

I just cant except it...I just cant.

Im going to have to go with the money lining my pockets defense, seeing how I grow wheat from time to time here on the farm,...not barley or hops....drinking wheat beer is in my best interest,so as to support the wheat industry.

Using that whole greedy money thing makes me feel much more masculine. Now if you'll please excuse me I have to go change the oil in my Miata.

Why is Hefeweissen so cloudy? It looks like some guy jerked off into glass of Miller Lite.

It's yeast. Hefe is German for yeast. It's a good source of B vitamins.

Too bad American brewers can't make a wheat beer worth drinking. I've never been able to understand that.

An old girlfriend used to drag me to a German bar and order that fooken wheat bear.

It was served warm with a slice of lemon and was cloudy, like someone had emptied a dust pan into the glass. I think there might even have been sea monkies swimming around in there.

Bleahhhh.

I always gave her my glass and ordered something called "Dortmunder Union," which was excellent. Whatever happened to that brand?

Weizenbock sounds like something two brokeback beer drinkers do after pulling out.

Simple economics.

If a person is fucking stupid enough to get duped into thinking that wheat beer isn't fucking gay, and actually has a shot at tasting good, then the brewery figures you're fucking stupid enough to not even notice if they don't bother filtering it.

Great source of vitamins, as mentioned....also an excellent source of the shits(generally a much bigger problem during active fermentation, rather than post-fermentation).

Regardless of the topic, if you have to start off your topic with the qualifier,
"I'm not Gay, but....", then you are fucking GAY.

So what do you do, drink a few wheat beers to loosen things up after getting your stool stuffed?

Just go ahead and complete the trifecta...post a thread espousing your love for Zima...just get it over with.

Uh no,no Zima for this cat,or wine coolers or smirnoff whatever or hard lemonaids.

And just for the record...I like DRY Rieslings, not the fruity tasting ones. That should clear things up. Now please excuse me while I sort my collection of bicycle shorts.
