What is tampa thinking?

Richards for $39-million US over five years!!!!!!!!!!!! That's nuts. They have 12 players signed for the 2006/07 season and it's only cost them $33,931,000.

1) Brad Richards $7.8 million
2) Vincent Lecavalier $6.85 million
3) Martin St. Louis $5.25 million
4) Dan Boyle $3.33 million
5) Fredrik Modin $2.204 million
6) Darryl Sydor $2.128 million
7) Vaclav Prospal $1.9 million
8) Sean Burke $1.6 million
9) Tim Taylor $650,000
10) Nolan Pratt $625,000
11) Rob DiMaio $478,800
12) Paul Ranger $450,000
* Dave Andreychuk Team honouring remainder of his contract $662,000

I hope we'll start to see two type of players emerge under the new system. 1) Guys who go for the most that they can get and are happy to play on teams with no depth and no chance of winning. 2) Players who take less so that they can play on a balanced team and win a cup.
GET-ZKY!!!!

I believe that they are trying to unload St. Louis. If the cap is set around $46 million, then they should be all right.

no way Sean Burke is worth $1.6 mil. What a waste of cap space.
