Royals hire Dayton Moore away from the ATL

Post by War Wagon »

How appropriate, since the last time that we had a real GM (Shuerholz), he got stolen away by Atlanta. Not that I blamed him. After Mr. K's death, it was apparent that the Royals were a sinking ship. Can you say Avron Fogelman?

Anyways, it's about fucking time this franchise takes a different direction. Nothing against Allard Baird who finally, mercifully...got canned. He was hamstrung by from day one by an owner who wouldn't spend jack shit. Not that he helped his cause much with some of the pathetic has beens and never was's he signed.

Word is that Dayton only agreed to this deal by having in writing from David Glass that he'd have complete control over all baseball decisions.

Fuck, maybe Glass has finally wised up and realized that you can't run a MLB franchise with a Wal-Mart mentality.

He'd better. There were lynch mobs forming up around here. Believe it or not, KC is a baseball town.

We're mad as hell, and not going to fucking take it anymore.

Rack the hire. First real glimmer of hope that the Royals have had for a looooooooooooooong time.

e wrote:from everything i heard today, it sounds like a good hire. the reporter from ATL that was on-air here today said that he figured there would be a "mass exodus" of scouts, minor-league coaches, etc coming to KC with him. that can't hurt.
Absorutely. They need to clean house from top to bottom to erase the pervasive stench of "loserville" this place has exuded lately.
as far as the lynch mob comment, from what i heard from callers on the radio, there was obviously a sense of frustration and disgust with what had happened but most of what i heard was a general feeling of "wake me when its over."
True.

Well, we've finally woken up, becuase the goddamn nightmare is over.

The next home game will double in attendance, and that trend will continue thru-out the rest of the season. Fuck it, I'm going to the next game I can to give this my stamp of approval. I haven't been in 3 years.

We won't be the '62 Mets...or the laughing stocks and butt of all rude jokes anymore... :x :x :x

I've got the Wichita Wranglers game on Metro Sports as we speak.

I want nothing but home grown talent here, and I'll wait five years to get it, but goddamnit, they had better not auction them off when they become free agents.

It all depends on the next cba, but everyone seems to overlook that little fact. Glass has been determind since the last cba to equal the playing field, the next time around.
