How appropriate, since the last time that we had a real GM (Shuerholz), he got stolen away by Atlanta. Not that I blamed him. After Mr. K's death, it was apparent that the Royals were a sinking ship. Can you say Avron Fogelman?

Anyways, it's about fucking time this franchise takes a different direction. Nothing against Allard Baird who finally, mercifully...got canned. He was hamstrung by from day one by an owner who wouldn't spend jack shit. Not that he helped his cause much with some of the pathetic has beens and never was's he signed.

Word is that Dayton only agreed to this deal by having in writing from David Glass that he'd have complete control over all baseball decisions.

Fuck, maybe Glass has finally wised up and realized that you can't run a MLB franchise with a Wal-Mart mentality.

from everything i heard today, it sounds like a good hire. the reporter from ATL that was on-air here today said that he figured there would be a "mass exodus" of scouts, minor-league coaches, etc coming to KC with him. that can't hurt.
