And who the hell changed the tile under my name!?!?!?! It made me LOL at first but now I'm kinda mad about it. Has it been that way for days and I just noticed?

The TV talking heads have everyone here
all hepped up about it --- we just finished a few sales tax free days on stuff from generators to batteries--
a nice little break if you wanted to buy a bunch
of stuff.
I've re-stocked my supplies, making sure my flood
insurance premium is paid, and I'm good to go !!

I dont think this year will be as cruel to Florida. I still would rather be hit by a Hurricane than a Tornado. At least you know when its coming.

I'd rather you get hit by the one that would stop you from posting for the longer period of time.

Furthermore...

I'm fairly certain this board wouldn't miss any FLA poster were a catastrophe to wipe out your entire state. I actually do enjoy reading patsy stone, but she's Muslim, and must go as well.

Patsy Stone wrote:Assalamualaikum, I have heard many people say that once a woman starts wearing a Jilbaab, she should always wear it and cannot switch to any other outfit even if that other outfit covers whole body and is loose (such as pants and a long loose blouse and Hijaab). My supervisor wears the Jilbaab and it causes no end of embarassment when she says words like perklumpt and gerber carpet. I am afraid that if she continues to do this I will invalidate my ghusil and have to do wudu all over myself. I would be grateful if you could clarify this point as it causes lots of confusion for me. Thanks Was Salaam

In principle, a woman should wear such clothing that are not attractive, and it covers and conceals her entire body, her colour, form and shape. If a woman wears a long loose dress that is not attractive in colour and that dress covers the form and shape of the body, then the dress will serve the purpose of the Jilbaab.

If the dress is attractive in colour or is also fitting size, then such a dress will not serve as a Jilbaab. Generally, the dress of a woman is attractive.

I DO own a Jilbaab cotton dress thingy with decorative accents on it. It's comfy for pajamas sometimes.

A bit overdue in this area as well. Let's hope we are fortunate not to be hit with any.

Indeed. I saw them here in Madison with Bob Marley in the late 70’s. Great show.

If by "N'awlins" you mean Brownsville, TX and by a "few years ago" you mean 1982 then you'd be correct.

day #2 has just about passed
and
all is well in SW FL !!

what kills me are people who are having
"hurricane proof glass" installed--not realizing
that the glass will still break--and have to
be replaced (like auto glass)
rack hurricane shutters !!

With this pattern of Hurricane names The G names ususally give most problems Gilbert was retired for Gordon and since then Gordon has weaved a path of destruction every 4 years.

Rack and against a strong Tornado you don't stand a chance. I'll take an hour of 100 mph winds over five to ten minutes of 300+ MPH winds. Most don't realize that the most dangerous part of an Hcane is the tornadoes it spawns.

Believe me. I do! Even though Rita landed 100 miles west of us, I knew were on the "bad" side and could easily get fucked up by a tornado. Luckily it just flooded.

SunCoastSooner---
true dat !!
When Wilma was blazing past my house-
the wind was just a howling and the house
was making creaking noises--but it was
nothing compared to what would have happened
had a tornado been by--
the plan here is if we hear "the train a comin"
is to grab all the cushions off the couches/sofas
take up refuge in MrsO's walk in closet off our
bedroom !!
