On pace for 82.88 homeruns this year. Just what this sports needs. He can wipe out one Bonds record this year, and with any luck, he'll obsolete the roidhead in about 10 or 12 years.

I really hope Pujols is the genuine article...he almost seems too good to be true. You can't help but be cynical about players today considering we've been lied to on a regular basis over the last decade or so. If he's legit, and I'm going assume he is, he's the perfect guy to pursue these records considering his conduct on and off the field. He plays the right way and he seems like a very honest guy. The Cardinals are coming to Comerica at the end of June...I'm gonna try to score tickets because I want see him take aim at tearing down those tainted records. He's the #1 guy I'd pay money to see.

Pujols is the best ball player right now IMO. I think he has a great shot of going down as the greatest right handed hitter of all-time.

Depends upon the team around him. Right now he is quite happy to talk a walk and get on base for the players behind him, but if/when Rolen or Edmonds get injured he'll have lesser players around him.

If the Cards get a kick-ass #2 hitter to both advance Eckstein and get on base for Pujols, he could be amazing.

Cardsfan misses Polanco in the #2.
Yankeesfan misses Jeter in Rodriguez's 2hole.

what's great about this year, is even though he's hitting more homers, he still hasn't gone on a tear yet at the plate.

he's hitting .310ish, because he's trying to create more offense while the rest of the team was slumping. with team healthy, i expect more 3for4 days. i see his power going down, as they pitch around him more.

why they think they can get that fastball in on him still amazes me. he has tremendous bat speed to get around and take it down the line.

Mark Gubicza was talking yesterday about how the Royals let AP go to the enemy. He said they all knew about him, being a KC area high schooler, and that the Royals should be kicking themselves for not signing him when he was in 8th grade (joke).

I'm sure there are a ton of franchises out there that can say the same thing about a ton of players, but there's only 1 Albert Pujols, so it's gotta sting the Royals even more. Damn that is one pathetic franchise. I'm flipping out on how bad the Angels are sucking this year, but all I need to do is look at the Royals' record and I start feeling better about myself.

As for the Royals, I have no words to adequately describe the level of suckdom they have sunken to.

Glass keeps talking about making changes. In the meantime, nothing changes, and KC is mired in another double digit losing streak.

They are on pace to lose by far a record number of games.

Royals fan has become numb to this...sorta'.

Maybe one day this franchise will arise from the smouldering ruin that is the Glass ownership era. And maybe one day pigs will fly.

Nomar G. had this problem and he was out for half a season and did not fully recover for 1 1/2 seasons.

Good. Been sucky the past two years. Nice to have some drama before October.

Pujols had a ridiculously small number of strikeouts this year, yet had three Friday night. Knew something was wrong there. Guess it either surfaced or it was strained further Saturday.

The entire Redbird team was riding Albert's coattails this year, so hopefully someone will step up for a change.
