1st Rounders?

Post by TheChief »

Who is going to be your first rounders??? And who will make the best Pro???

If you can believe the biased Florida media, FSU might have 4 defensive players selected in the First Round.

FOR SURE 1st rd - Broderick Bunkley (DT) and Ernie Sims (LB)
75/25 - Kamerion Wimbley (DE/LB) and Antonio Cromartie (CB)

Personally I don't know if that is a good thing or an embarassment to last season. Though we were without Cromartie the whole time, three first round players should not lose 5 games in one year.

I think Bunkley will make the best Pro. He is just ridiculous in a scheme where the DT can penetrate up the middle. 44 bench reps at the combine(one off the combine record) and the fastest 40 time by anyone over 300lbs.

I think FSU gets 4 1st Rounders, and I think Bunkley will also be the best pro. He reminds me of Bryant Young.

I think it is kinda sad that w/ 4 1st rounders FSU didnt have a better season. Oh well.

I think tOSU gets 6 in the 1st Round and I bet their fans are thinking similar things.

Chris Messner shot up the charts, but he's still a second-third round guy. Dusty Dvoracek I've seen as high as the first round, but not recently. Didn't really impress at any of the combines except for having a good motor.

Someone's going to be very very happy that they drafted JD Runnels at some point. But they won't draft him in the first round.

Basically nobody. Next year will be a different story.
JD Runnels is going to wow some people in the NFLwith his hands. He is the steal of the draft in my crimson shades opinion.

OU Prospects...

Davin Joseph. Chris Chester. Double D. Eric Bassey. Chee Oh. JD Runnells is also a prospect, but his hands aren't nearly what pro teams would like out of a pass catching FB. Also, he needs to put on some more weight, and he needs to...

...I don't need to say any more. Bassey will be the shock of the draft, IMHO. Sometimes scouts are dumb. :D

Carpenter and Youbouty are strong late first round possibilities...

The only player that ND has that has an outside chance at the 1st round is Maurice Stovall, and he would be late 1st round at best. Likely a early 2nd round pick, he will make a great pro if he gets himself into a situation where he is the #2 WR.

The best pro prospect is either Anthony Fasano or Mark LeVoir, OT. Fasano will go in the 3rd, LeVoir may not go until the second day, but he will make a damn good RT for someone.

I do think Tamba Hali and Allen Zemaitis would handsomely reward teams that took them in the first round. I think they'll end up as 2nd rounders, though.

I see Mike Robinson succeeding as an all-purpose offensive player, but he'll be lucky to be a 3rd rounder.

Tyler Reed, Anwar Phillips, and Chris Harrell might get drafted.

As Killian said, Maurice Stovall could be a first rounder. He's ND's only real chance at a first-round pick this year. Imho, he has the tools to be a very good NFL receiver. Mel Kiper has him falling all the way to the third round, although I don't think that'll happen.

Fasano could be a very good pro, although tight end is a position that is slowly but surely being deemphasized in the NFL.

I personally think the steal of this draft is going to be TE David Thomas. He probably won't go til the 3rd or 4th round but he is the type of player that doesn't look like a player but does nothing but make plays.

as for Duck first rounders
Look for Kellen Clemons to be a solid QB pick in the first round

Hall would be out best chance at a 1st rounder, but I see him going in the second or third round.

bunk went to my high school.....many years after myself, but it is good to see a Chamberlain Chief portrayed in good light vs Dennis Lundy(one google search is all you need....remember Northwestern).

Don't you hate when I am right skull. The Bears have done nothing but rave about JD's hands and catching ability out of the back field. They hve stated he was the steal of the draft for them. :D

Good for him then... he worked on his hands and it paid off. Believe me, I'm happy to see it. I like JD.
