Entourage?

Post by MgoBlue-LightSpecial »

Ok, everyone I've talked to about this show seriously issues it, but every time I see an ad for it, it just doesn't look like something I'd be into. I generally trust the opinions of the folks who post here, so I ask...should I give it a shot?

Defintely.. Well Written show. Good stories and only a half hour at a time so doesn't feel like it drags on like some of the HBO shows do. If you have a close group of guy friends you have grown up with- there are dynamics of the show that you will appreciate more than those that don't.

Plus- Jeremy Piven as Ari Gold is money! His best role since PCU

I havent missed an Episode since it aired 2 years ago. Like BB said it is very well written, funny, the cast has great chemistry and their tons of hotties in every show. Piven is great as super agent Ari Gold and he provides the biggest laughs. All my college buddies love it and I even know girl friends of mine that like it.

If you like HBO shows (and there aren't many not to like), you'll love this one. One girl I know described it as a guys version of Sex in the City. I can see the analogy, but I don't agree with it. It's basically about one dude and his hangers on. One is trying to make a career by being his manager, thinks he's smarter than everyone else, yet has gone to one semester of junior college and managed s Sabbaro's. Another is trying to score movie rolls off his famous younger brother. The last guy is just in it for the ride.

It's loosely based off Mark Walhberg's life. Very funny, very well written show.

And as everyone else has said, Ari Gold is awesome. In my opinion, the best character on TV. He has one laugh out loud line of the night. Case in point:

(Someone in the Entourage): "Ari, you coming out with us tonight?"

Ari: "Sorry fellas, it's anal sex night at the Gold house. I have to go home and punish my wife."
"Well, my wife assassinated my sexual identity, and my children are eating my dreams." -Louis CK

Ari: Jesus, what the fuck are you wearing?!

Lloyd: It's my new Andre 3000 look.

Ari: You look like Michelle Kwan in drag. Go do a fucking triple axle and get James Cameron on the phone.

I'll check this out soon. Currently viewing The Wire (excellent) and Deadwood Season 2 (excellent).

RACK .

Nobody ever talks about this show . Nobody . Not one Emmy , SAG , or even Golden Globe nomination . It is the best damn show I have ever got into . Everything is damn near perfect , and it maybe the most realistic crime drama ever produced .

somewhat**. but, they've got a TV in the kitchen and pops has a better than deece collection of single malts and red wine...and they always have a bunch of imported cheeses and such....and I play with the dog, watch some holiday hoops or the whatever bowl...and get little bit loaded on stuff i can't normally buy for myself. so, it's not all bad.

Cool

** not as bad as one Christmas when his wife (who is totally cool and very intelligent and all that--she's great. she's a lawyer and has a MA in History--and pretty hot for a chick in her late 40's....i've been stoked for my dad since they got married about 15 years ago) wore a very tight-fitting white blouse without a bra....i really don't need to be seeing my Dad's wife's nipples...when we are opening gifts.

THAT was awkward, IMO.

IN.

Everybody raves about Piven (and rightfully so), but for me it is Drama that steals the show. Fucking hilarious every single week.

Vince: Its okay Turtle, even A-Rod goes into a slump once in a while.

Drama: But Vince, when A-Rod's in a slump, he's still getting pussy.

Ari: Listen, Lloyd, I want you to put all my files, folders, binders, *everything* into a box! If you find a used condom, an executioner's mask, and a fucking spike paddle, don't think, just pack that bitch! Chop suey!

Ari Gold: [after his Viagra has kicked in, to his angry wife] I'm ready to go here, all right? It's like R. Kelly at recess.

Shauna: It's like prom; you get your date a corsage and she gives you a hand job.
Turtle: Who the fuck wants a hand job?
Yeah fuckers.... I'm back
