My forays into this forum are few and far between...now, I remember why...a whole buncha stupid going on.
Diogenes wrote:my keybord took a dive on me Sunday night, so that actually was all I can manage at the time, when I picked up a new one after work monday. my Internet connection was toast.

And if those things would have stayed inoperational, it would have gone a long way to convincing me that there was, in fact, a God.

Tom...
You're one of the few openly religious posters around these parts that seem to actually "walk the walk," and I respect the hell (err, heck) out of you for that.

HUH?

Are you really fucking high, or what?

I can't think of ANY poster here who exemplifies the "My Bible came with asterisks in it" set than Tom.

The Champion of the Iraq War must not have caught that part where his Guidebook says "Thou shalt not kill."

OBVIOUSLY, it was "beyond his understanding."
Tom In VA wrote:And doesn't having a presence in Iraq place us in a better strategic position then if we were still just one country over in Kuwait ?
So, Tom...what justification do you use to ignore the "turn the other cheek" part?

Tom In VA wrote:I think "illegal aliens" and "illegals" are a tad insensitive. We need to refer to these people as "Guest Workers". I wonder if we'll ever refer to Bank Robbers as "Guest Bankers".

How do you resolve this, with this:
“The King will say to those on his right hand: ‘Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 “‘I was hungry and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.
36 “‘I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’
37 “The righteous will answer him: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
38 “‘When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and dress you?
39 “‘When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
40 “The King will answer: ‘To the extent that you did it to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to me.’

I'll save you some time...you can't.

I can't think of a better example on this board of "talking the talk, while never walking the walk."

I could come up with at least 100 other examples of this blasphemer at work...those were just the first couple of results of the search page.

This guy has freaking RAISED THE BAR on "blasphemy."

But, at least he has some of the other "armchair Christians" fooled.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one

Wow Dins, would you like me to pay you any rent ?

You need some serious help, you're a twisted, deluded individual.

But by all means, if you think you can "walk the walk", in it's entirety.

I'd love to see it. I'll be waiting.

A) If you're going to try hijacking threads with personal call-outs, you can make them fewer and farther between.
B) There is usually a whole bunch of stupid going on when you decide to grace us with you presence- but at least you can spell, so we'll cut you some slack. Call it turning the other cheek if you will.
C) The proper translation is 'thou shall not murder'. If you want to discuss the problem of reconciling the 'just war' concept with the Christian faith, that is something entirly different, but there is no 'blasphemy' (try looking at the definitions of words when you look up the spelling sometime) inherant in Tom in Va's support of the WoT.
D) What exactly is your problem with his analogy to "guest bankers'? By your 'logic' we should just give them all the money they want anyway.
E)Go ahead and give me the typo list, and have a nice fucking day.

Tard.

I'm not even a thumper. Jesus. This "Dinsdale" character really claims to have a lot on the ball, but he can't find one place where I've claimed to be "saved" or "Christian" or anything.

I believe there is a God, neither Dins or I are Him. I believe Christ was who He said He was. I believe in doing what I can to serve my fellow man, but I don't have to be a doormat for them.

I'm a struggling, self absorbed, self obsessed, self centered reformed drunk and nicotine addict.

"War" ? Christ, Dins acts like I invented it. If our guys are in it, I'm rooting for our guys. If our leadership believes it's crucial for OUR people, then, I trust them. Charity begins at home.

I've no room to judge anyone and I try not to. I'm trusting in God's mercy and I wish nothing but that mercy on everyone as they pass into death or the next life.

Everyone deserves to hear Jerry play "Stella Blue" live.

Blasphemy, sheer blasphemy.

I'm not sure exactly where, but if Dimsdale says so, it must be true.

blas·phe·my
1.
a. A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity.
b. The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God.

2. An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct.
Dense,
Maybe you should post a few of those 100 other examples of Tom's blasphemy, because I don't see any in the "examples" you posted. I suppose you could make an argument that a Christian who supports the war is being hypocritical, but it hardly qualifies as blasphemy.

That's okay.

Dimsdale is a whiz at spelling and punctuation and shit like that, who cares if he doesn't actually know what the words mean.
