Got back from Holland last Monday, then spent the rest of the work week in SoCal. While I haven't done a lot of international traveling, I've always felt while visiting foreign countries that I'm glad to be an American -- that while whatever the particular country is that I'm visiting is a nice vacation spot, it's still not the good ol' US of A. The Netherlands is the first country I've visited where I came away with a feeling of envy regarding its citizens; where I've thought, "It would be sweet to be Dutch." Sure, they pay high taxes, but they have low crime rates, little poverty, and a very attractive way of life. I could easily see myself spending months or years at a time there. Amsterdam is the most liveable city I've been in, and I look forward to going back, hopefully sooner rather than later.
An example of their tolerance toward alternative lifestyles:

Just out of curiosity, do you consider Mexifornia foreign country?

No women?
Went with the g/f, so it was kinda tough to take pix of Dutch hotties. But there were plenty of 'em. The red-light district has an unwritten policy of not photographing the working girls, too. Here's one shot of what can typically be seen there:
