So how long before Israel Attacks Iran?
Iran is footdragging on the incentive package to give them time to develop weapons grade uranium. Israel has said it will not tolerate a nuclear armed iran. Hard to blame them after the iranian president said they should be wiped off the map. That also makes it hard to believe that iran only has peaceful purposes for uranium enrichment.
The UN is as usual, powerless and incapable of achieving anything close to resolution on this issue. As long as each individual permanent member of the S.C. retains the one veto power of killing any proposal, that body will remain nothing more than a global nursemaid to humanitarian efforts.
I'd say another 6 months of bantering back and forth before Israel attacks, depending on the outcome of the hamas bullshit in palestine.

Why the US? We're busy making concessions and offering to give them all kinds of shit they dont' deserve because the rest of the world thinks iran is entitled to develop nuclear technology.
Israel should do its own dirty work.

I agree the concessions will be rejected. They've already rejected the non-enrichment aspect, and as usual china and russia have backtracked under pressure from some of the non aligned countries that do support iran, probably because they too want to be able in the future to have nuclear energy.
Of course none of them has stated that they want israel wiped off the map, but I guess that doesn't seem to matter to them.
I still don't see why the US will be the one to strike, and not israel. Israel is in a better position to do so for many reasons.

It certainly has many, many similarities to osirak, including the inadequacy of the IAEA to effectively monitor production of enriched Uranium
How many facilities would they have to hit? Last I heard iran was only enriching at two places, and they wouldn't have to outright destory it. crippling production facilities would set them back years, if not more. Plenty of time to get some international support on the issue. ( I know you'll scoff this concept away)
I know iran with nukes is a bigger problem, but much of the rest of the world doesn't seem to think so at this point. I don't think Bush could muster enough support for an attack on Iran.

You think congress will sit still if he bypasses them?

So basically, Bush will say "we have incontrovertible evidence of weapons of mass destruction in iran, therefore we should attack them" and that will fly with congress AND the American public?
Hmmm. Where have I heard that before?

Not that I'm against it, I just don't believe that will happen.
I think someone needs to step up and knock iran off the nuclear block. I was hoping to see a little more worldwide concensus, but that doesn't appear to be happening.

America will attack Iran when Israel gives the order, and not a second sooner.
Do your arms ever get tired carrying all that water?

The difference is, Iran isn't denying the way that Iraq was. They're not only enriching uranium, but claiming they have a right to nuclear arms.Mister Bushice wrote:So basically, Bush will say "we have incontrovertible evidence of weapons of mass destruction in iran, therefore we should attack them" and that will fly with congress AND the American public?

As mvscal said, there won't be a warning when it happens.

As long as Schlomo and Ruth can send their ungrateful kids on a six week summer "Aliyah" before they start Law School, I'd say the number of potential American dead is worth it.
They protest the wars you go fight for them, and when you get back, their laywer kids will find
some way to drag you into court and sue you.
And I must say, you fucking deserve every ounce of it.

No defense against that.F-22 RAPTOR SCORES DIRECT HIT IN TESTING OF SUPERSONIC, HIGH-ALTITUDE JDAM DROP

I think it mighta short hopped the target actually, making it particularly difficult to field. Good tactic on the chairforce's part.Mikey wrote:Looks like it missed by at least a couple of yards....mvscal wrote:It sure would be a terrible shame if those buildings just "suddenly exploded" for no apparent reason.
