It would also be safer for them to ride with hockey or football pads.PSUFAN wrote:I see people do crazy shit while driving every fucking day. To me, it's nuts to assume you'll be safe with your body totally exposed in city or highway traffic. Yes, the freedom of being on a bike sans helmet is attractive, but facial reconstruction surgery (and let it be pointed out again that Big Ben is EXTREMELY FORTUNATE) ain't a party I want to hang at.
My wife and I initially butted heads at whether to force our kids to wear bicycle helmets, even during casual riding, because I never did, but lately I have moved over to share her POV.
Will a motor bike keep the steelers out of the playoffs?

What, not taking them to any Pens games?PSUFAN wrote:sincerely, my children (who, at 5 and 7, are Big Ben fans and football fans in general, but have never witnessed a hockey game, even on television)

You'll be missing a hell of a team if they do leave. They'll be contending for the Stanley Cup in 2 years.PSUFAN wrote:Hell, will the Pens even be in Pittsburgh next year? Or will they leave the following year?

I think a lot of people will miss seeing them. The Stanley Cup Finals are drawing worse ratings than the World Cup (in the US, anyway).BSmack wrote:You'll be missing a hell of a team if they do leave. Around these parts, we're still getting over the Sabres. You say they're still playing hockey?Goober McTuber wrote:I think a lot of people will miss seeing them. The Pirates drove that mularkey out of my dome in '95. Now, when a PGH franchise runs the "we suck now but we'll be great next year" schtick, I recognize it for the stand-up comedy that it is.You'll be missing a hell of a team

Rack you for achieving drooling invalid status without the head dents.

Nope, he was just better at checkers than most anyone. There's a lot more skill and strategy involved than what you seem to think. Thanks for showing your ignorance, though.Goober McTuber wrote:Right. And Old Maid is a much tougher game than Bridge. He used to tell me that checkers was tougher than chess, but I didn't believe him at first. Except that I could never beat him, unless he was feeling charitable.
As for chess, anytime you want to hook up for a game on Yahoo, just say the word. I'd enjoy that.

things that get the gop out voting in numbers: gay marraige ban and helmet laws. nice platform.
If Lynn Swann came out for helmet laws, it would be the first issue he'd associated himself with.
It is hard to take the measure of Ed Rendell, politically speaking. He's got deep pockets, and his powerful supporters in PA are on both sides of the aisle. I think some nostalgic folks are going to lose a lot of money backing Lynn Swann in this one.
