To be honest, I thought this had been settled some time ago:

Griswold v. Connecticut

Did you even read the article?
The receptionist, however, informed me that my doctor did not prescribe Plan B. No reason given. Neither did my internist. The midwifery practice I had used could prescribe it, but not over the phone, and there were no more open appointments for the day. The weekend -- and the end of the 72-hour window -- was approaching.

But I needed to meet my kids' school bus and, as I was pretty much out of options -- short of soliciting random Virginia doctors out of the phone book -- I figured I'd take my chances and hope for the best.
Doesn't sound to me like someone who was so wrapped up in her career that she couldn't be bothered.
She rolled the dice, crapped out and now she's fucking whining like the stupid bitch she undoubtedly is.
No, she's criticizing the Administration's policies. That's still allowed in this country -- I think.

She made a whopping two phone calls and then just blew it off, you dumbfuck.
As Index would say, the GED strikes again.

She made three phone calls, tried to get an appointment with the only one who agreed to prescribe it, but couldn't. And the end of the 72-hour period was approaching before she could get one.

Three calls. One to her doctor's office. One to her internist. And one to the midwifery practice
. . . who couldn't fit her in that day. Then she just blew it off.
That day happened to be Friday. Did they have any appointments available over the weekend? I doubt it. Monday was too late.
This retarded cunt's stupidity has nothing to do with the GOP, the President, God or space aliens.
She didn't handle it as well as she could/should have. But if W's policy is interfering with Constitutional rights under Griswold, that is indeed very relevant.

Fuck off, douchebag.

Birth control medication is perscription only for medical reasons not political or religious reasons.
Who said anything about it being available over the counter? Two of the doctors she contacted would not prescribe it.

We don't have enough information here to conclude that that's due to the Bush Administration policies, but that's certainly one possibility.

And don't get your panties in a bunch every time someone criticizes your boyfriend. It's very unbecoming, mvsgannon.

I am a 42-year-old happily married mother of two elementary-schoolers. My husband and I both work, and like many couples, we're starved for time together. One Thursday evening this past March, we managed to snag some rare couple time and, in a sudden rush of passion, I failed to insert my diaphragm.

As we're both in our forties, my husband and I had considered our family complete, and we weren't planning to have another child, which is why...
...which is why you should have taken the time to put the diaphragm in.

Dana, I'm sure you and the hubby both tell the kids fairly regularly to, and I quote, "slow down", yes? So I'm sure he would have totally understood if you'd taken a moment out to lube that bad boy and lodge it up in there. I mean, considering how important it supposedly was to you both that y'all considered the family complete at two kids. I have to think taking the time out for that would have been, in the greater scheme of things, a lot less trouble than shopping for a morning-after pill prescription going into the weekend.

By the way, Dana, for your husband's future reference, there are these amazing things called latex condoms. They're marketed in a mind-boggling variety of sizes, shapes, textures, lubes, and even flavors. More often than not these days, they're treated with...wait for it...spermicidal lubricant. I'm pretty sure that most places in the U.S. these days, they're an over-the-counter purchase. They're even available over the Internet. If the Bush Administration has made any effort whatsoever to curtail their availability, it's been an abject failure. Maybe your husband should look into stocking up on some in anticipation of your next "rare couple time". If he doesn't like the feel, maybe he can follow Dennis Miller's strategy...wear two all the time, then strip the outer one off when he's ready to go, and he'll be a wild man.

If doctors & pharmacists have a problem with providing legal & safe drugs to patients....they should get another job.

Just like that soldier at Fort Lewis who doesn't want to go to Iraq (although he should face a court martial & punishment first).

This is why all of you infidels will die - we here at al Qaeda oppose birth control and George Bush will die by Allah's wrath for not outlawing contraceptives, abortion and homosexuality altogether like we plan to when we take over.

Why didn't the dumb fuck of a husband pull out and blast her grill with baby batter? He had the perfect excuse to to do it (knowing she didn't put the stopper in), you know he wanted to do it, we all want to do it, I blame him for being as big an idiot as her. Fuck the two of them and I'm glad she had an abortion.

Whats the big deal? So she had an abortion. It shouldnt be used as a form of birth control, but sometimes mistakes happens and that is why Abortion needs to be made available.

It sure as hell should be against the law for a doctor to withold contraception without a valid medical reason.

On the other hand, she should have called Planned Parenthood and gotten the number of someone who would prescribe Plan B. I've heard they're kind of sympathetic towards people in need of birth control. I am assuming she has either Google or a phone book?

She tried one resolution to her problem.

It didn't work out.

She went with another option, which apparently gave the desired result.

Not really seeing the problem. The hand-wringing from the right is a little pathetic.

Did you even read the article? She quite clearly, and very early on, disclaimed the title. It was there only to get people to read it, and judging from the response of this board, it was quite effective in that regard.
