Wassup H-Town posters?
How about that weather?
Not saying it is wet or anything, but the animals are lining up 2 by 2 in Houston.
Seriously, hope all is well guys.

While the place a live might have a lot of total "days of rain," Houston is getting about 1/3rd of a total year's worth here...in one day. That's more rainfall than our wettest month(which is in winter -- where the rainy weather belongs).

The roads haven't swamped yet out in Cypress. The drainage ditches on either side of the roads are full. It just stopped raining so as long as we don't get anymore rain it'll be fine.
Haven't been into Houston today as I have an ear and throat infection and am taking it easy here at home. Unwar being sick.

Yah. We avg 61 inches a year and this year is shaping up to be nowhere near that unless we can get a Tropical Storm to help us out (NO HURRICANES!!!)Dinsdale wrote:TenTallBen wrote:We've only had just over 20 inches so far this year. Normally we would be at about 40.
Damn. More often than not, we don't see that much rain in a year. Your average year bests our record year(1996).

Probably a good thing. The grass clippings might be a little high. ;)Rack Fu wrote:The roads haven't swamped yet out in Cypress. The drainage ditches on either side of the roads are full. It just stopped raining so as long as we don't get anymore rain it'll be fine.

I could be mistaken, but this last winter(you know..."winter"...when it's SUPPOSED to rain), I could have sworn that I heard the weatherman say, that in the entire time they've been recording weather data in rainy ol' Portland, that not once has it ever rained 3 inches in a day...I swore that's what he said. And frankly, I don't remember any, although there's been quite a few 2.5" days, often several strung together in a row(sup flooding).
Now, some of the areas outside of town, particularly the Coastal Plain and western slopes of the Coast Range...whoooole different story. Weekly occurance in winter. And that's why we live in the Valley.
