From $39 million to around $44 million ($28 million minimum)...max players salary up to $8.8 million from $7.8 million.

Should make for an interesting summer...which free agents will command the new max salary? With $5 million more to spend, that should allow teams to keep a few extra players.

$44 million was around the target number that has been going around for a while. An extra $5 million is definitely going to help some teams.
