2006 Entry Draft Thread

Post by Shoalzie »

Can't say I'm much of a draft guru but it's still interesting to watch because of the possible trades. It's likely that Luongo will be dealt this weekend...the Kings are coming strong with their latest offer. The Wings could land themselves a goalie as well if they don't get Luongo...Biron is a likely target.

Big shock, the Wings are projected to draft a Swede...if they don't deal away the pick.

Kings rumor involving Luongo...

The Caps will either get Kessel or Backstrom.

I'm very happy with either one. Backstrom could make the team next season...Kessel will have to wait his turn.

Canucks are supposed to be in the running for Luongo too. Apparently they're dangling Bertuzzi as trade bait. If that were to happen, it would be an amazing turn of events for the Canucks organization. Goaltending has long been their achilles heel, and Bertuzzi will drag that team down for as long as he plays there.

Also, crazy Al Strachan came out today saying that Chris Pronger feels as though he's "served his sentence" in Edmonton and wants to be moved. As laughable as that sounds, a big part of me hopes it's true. :D

Took long enough, but the off-season has finally arrived!

I'm also happy that we get 5 picks in the first couple of rounds. Keep stockpiling the blue chips.

I don't know about Al Strachan. I read his piece..It seems dubious.
