Body World
Got talked into to taking the wife and kid to something called "Body World" over at the science museum. They take dead bodies and organs and dip them in plastic for display. The place was crowded as fukk, people jostling to see cancerous rectums, hydrocephalic fetuses, and diseased cranks that had been sliced in half.
I dunno, maybe I'm not hip to the jive or something, but it creeped me the fukk out. I pushed my way through the crowd and went and played with the wave machine. Then I drove the tow boat simulator and marveled at the Hmong house.
I don't think I'll ever eat beef jerky again.

When I liveed in New Orleans, a girl took me to some corridor in a hospital just off Canal Street. She snuck me in, and we acted like we belonged there. There was a collection of freakstuff in jars along the corridor. I guess she had just happened upon it. There were human trunks, body parts, and a baby that had a horn like a goat. Most of it was almost a century old.

That same exhibit was here in Tampa over Xmas. Disturbing b/c its actual dead people who gave their bodies to Science.Uncle Fester wrote:Got talked into to taking the wife and kid to something called "Body World" over at the science museum. In Florida, they could have just displayed a foreskin and it would have produced the same amount of controversy and outrage.Cicero wrote:

Saw it in Philly this winter. They had the horse, the bicycle, everything. The gymnast, the hurdler, and the chick shooting an arrow were my favorite. My gf and her mom thought the pregnant chick was NOT cool.
And I've been to the Mutter Museum twice. I love that place. They had a Lewis and Clark exhibit up to mark the 200th anniversary, and it was pretty good.

Like I said, I'll take my museum with trains sets and riverboat simulaters, please.
Yeah, I bought the spine key chain and a finger bone pen.

Actually, you can pick up a lot of the same stuff in any medical school bookstore. I usually stock up on the eyeball keychains, finger bone keychains, etc. as prizes for my students for top grades on quizzes and tests.helmet wrote:Yeah, I bought the spine key chain and a finger bone pen.
THE BIBLE - Because all the works of all the science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primitives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of Noah's house.
