Checketts officially new owner of blues

Post by Adelpiero »

John Davidson named as President of Operations.

these2 have been buddies for many years, Davidson is a very smart hockey man, and has many ties to former blues who are in the orginization.

a brilliant move. finally they find the right owner. billionair billy was clueless and a retard, glad the nba didnt allow him to buy a team, he would still own the blues.

Sucks for TV viewers...Davidson was the best color guy on TV by far. He'll do well in the STL.

Disagree. I always found him condescending to the viewer. Maybe that's because he's not speaking to the hard-core fan, but I'd like a little more analysis than, "Whoa, that's a great play by ______, who is one of the best players in the league at doing that!!"

Pierre Maguire is my current favourite.

He's a play by play guy, not analyst. Emrick and Davidson have been a quality broadcast team more than a decade...it's going to be strange not hearing JD.

Hughson worked for TSN many years ago, but went to Sportsnet when they started up to be the full-time Canucks play-by-play man. Last year Hughson was added to Hockey Night in Canada as their secondary play-by-play guy (does the 2nd game with the western teams). He was brought in to replace Chris Cuthbert, another outstanding announcer, who was fired by CBC and now works for TSN (as well as NBC on Saturdays).

The circle of life in Canadian sports TV.
