This will literally set your mouth on fire. I am making it right now. I have the sausages cooking.
1 pound Hot Italian Sausage
1 pond lean beef (or pork or chicken or wild game)
1/2 pound Shrimp (not those puny tiny ones)
10-15 Tiger shrimp
1 package of Old el Paso Chili mix (or any other)
1 large onion
3 larger Jalapenos
2 cups extra hot salsa
2 cups of hot tomato sauce
1 yellow bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
1/4 cup chili powder
3 tablespoons cayenne powder
1/4 cup of Franks red hot
salt and pepper
cheese - your favourite type grated
15 pack of beer (or more if more than one person)
Directions:
cook and drain "burger"
cut up (I uses scissors) and cook sausage in a little water in large pot covered and cook on medium heat until done. (I use a 2 gallon cast iron pot)
Throw in shrimp,tiger shrimp, cut up bell peppers, onions and jalapenos when sausage done, saute for a couple minutes.
Then mix in "burger"
add chili package, chili powder and cayenne
give it a good stir
add tomato sauce, salsa, Franks red hot.
give it another good stir.
bring to a slight boil and simmer for a couple hours on low stirring on occasion.
then enjoy with grated cheese.
I like to dip tortilla chips or even french fries in mine.
Drink beer as needed. Believe me you will need it as this is quite hot and not for the faint of heart.
But that is the way I eat as I use hot sauce on almost everything. I love hot and spicy food.
As with any recipe you can adjust things to suit your own taste.
