VHS to DVD

Post by Sky »

Anyone have one of those machines that converts VHS in DVD format? I recently received a tape that I would like to have a copy of but don't want to keep a VHS around. I was wondering how well they worked and if it was worth the effort.

I just got a Dazzle Video Converter Platinum. I'll let you know how it works.

Excuse me, it's called the Dazzle Video Creator Platinum and it works pretty good. It lets you capture at various quality and various formats like mpeg 1, mpeg2, ipod video format, psp format, avi, divx.

My one complaint with it is that there isn't a happy medium for the resolution. You either have to capture full screen or half that size with no in between. So either you have small files that look pixelated when you blow it up on you computer, or large files that look good. I would have liked to have had the option to capture at various sizes.

Still I started capturing some tapes I had and the quality is as good as the tapes was.

It's on sale this week at Best Buy for $60.

If you want to put a vid from a VCR or Cam corder on a PC the old fashion way? Then get one of these.

It will record your shit in a way that you just burn it to DVD with no problem.

I use it all the time to record BigBrother or any other show on cable to share with my pals on eMule and BitLord.
