So dude had a job that you would have take (in a second mind you) and you use said job as the basis for negating Adam Carolla has to say about Ann Coulter?KC Paul 3.0 wrote:I never said I wouldn't take that gig on MTV- all I said was that Ann Coulter probably gives a crap LESS about what Adam Carollo thinks about her, that's all.
I guess that means that she wouldn't waste the time to shit on one of your takes.

She's done absolutely NOTHING save pose for some book covers. Christ, it's not like she actualy WROTE her books.KC Paul 3.0 wrote:Or YOUR takes....or anybody elses here.BSmack wrote:So dude had a job that you would have take (in a second mind you) and you use said job as the basis for negating Adam Carolla has to say about Ann Coulter?KC Paul 3.0 wrote:I never said I wouldn't take that gig on MTV- all I said was that Ann Coulter probably gives a crap LESS about what Adam Carollo thinks about her, that's all.

TPM Muckracker has an itemized list of Ann Coulter's supposed plagiarism, and sorry to say, there's not much there.
Coulter is a lot of things, but it doesn't look like plagiarism is one of them.
What these examples show is that Coulter is a lazy writer who rips off other people's research, but stealing someone else's arguments isn't "plagiarism". It's just being a lazy, unimaginative writer.

So you like to pick and choose which articles you believe. Its easy to just to copy and paste them in here. Let's look at some actual passages:
Example 1: "As New Hampshire attorney general in 1977, Souter opposed the repeal of an 1848 state law that made abortion a crime even though Roe v. Wade had made it irrelevant, predicting that if the law were repealed, New Hampshire 'would become the abortion mill of the United States.'"
Alleged Source: "In 1977, Souter as state attorney general spoke out against a proposed repeal of an 1848 state law that made abortion a crime -- even though the measure had been largely invalidated by the Supreme Court in Roe. vs. Wade… 'Quite apart from the fact that I don't think unlimited abortions ought to be allowed . . . I presume we would become the abortion mill of the United States[.]'" ("Liberals Leery as New Clues Surface on Souters Views," Los Angeles Times, Sept. 9, 1990)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 2: "He filed a brief arguing that the state should not have to pay for poor women to have abortions — or, as the brief called it, "the killing of unborn children" and the "destruction of fetuses." At this point the only people more opposed to abortion than Souter were still in vitro."
Alleged Source: "The year before, Souter had filed a legal brief arguing that the state should not have to pay for abortions for poor women. Abortion was referred to as "the killing of unborn children" and the "destruction of fetuses."" An assistant attorney general has said that he, not Souter, wrote the brief. (Ibid)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 3: "Also as state attorney general, Souter defended the governor's practice of lowering the flag to half-staff on Good Friday, arguing that "lowering of the flag to commemorate the death of Christ no more establishes a religious position on the part of the state or promotes a religion than the lowering of the flag for the death of Hubert Humphrey promotes the cause of the Democratic Party in New Hampshire."
Alleged Source: "In 1978, Gov. Meldrim Thomson exhorted state employees to 'reverently observe Good Friday' and ordered flags flown at half staff to 'memorialize the death of Christ on the Cross.' A federal judge struck down the order as a violation of the First Amendment's ban on an 'establishment of religion.' Souter appealed, arguing that Jesus Christ is a 'historical' figure. 'The lowering of the flag to commemorate the death of Christ no more establishes a religious position on the part of the state or promotes a religion than the lowering of the flag for the death of Humbert Humphrey promotes the cause of the Democratic Party in New Hampshire,' Souter wrote." (Ibid)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 4: "Souter vowed in a newspaper interview to 'do everything we can to uphold the law' allowing public school children to recite the Lord's Prayer every day."
Alleged Source: "In 1975, the New Hampshire Legislature gave elementary schools the authority to recite 'the traditional Lord's Prayer' each day, despite earlier Supreme Court decisions barring such activity. In a newspaper interview, Souter promised to 'do everything we can to uphold the law,' but a federal judge struck it down as 'patently and obviously unconstitutional.'" (Ibid)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 5: "As a justice on the New Hampshire Supreme Court, Souter dismissively referred to abortion as something 'necessarily permitted under Roe v. Wade' — not exactly the 'fundamental right' he seems to think it is now."
Alleged Source: "In 1986, the New Hampshire Supreme Court upheld a woman's right to sue her doctor because he did not test for potential birth defects and advise her of the option of abortion. In a concurring statement, Souter referred to abortion not as a fundamental right, but as being "necessarily permitted under Roe vs. Wade[.]" (Ibid)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 6: "In a private speech — not a brief on behalf of a client — Souter attacked affirmative action, calling it 'affirmative discrimination.'"
Alleged Source: "In a May, 1976, speech reported in a newspaper account, Souter said he opposed affirmative action, calling it 'affirmative discrimination.'" (Ibid)
(Identified by John Barrie/New York Post)
Example 7: Souter openly proclaimed his support for the 'original intent' in interpreting the Constitution.
Alleged Source: "Souter has declared himself a believer in the strict 'original intent' view of interpreting the Constitution." (Ibid)

You once again prove to me that you are incapable of intelligent argument and rely simply on insults. Kudos to you.
I may have a dick in my hand, but at least I also have a brain in my head.
Yep, there you go again. Refraining from intellectual argument for the sake of insulting others. Hmmm, gives you much credibility with your posts.mvscal wrote:You quite clearly haven't a fucking clue of what you are talking about.
It is abundantly clear that you have never worked with source materials or a set of facts in your life.
Your personal animosity for the author has caused you and other pathetic morons such as yourself to make this desperate reach which does nothing but prove her point that not only are you people shockingly stupid you're also blatant liars.
Should I just drop to my knees and salute the all wonderful mvscal, who can't answer a single post without a "you're so fucking stupid" and "fuck you"
Ann Coulter didn't give any credit to anybody when she wrote those passages, thus following the exact definition of plagiarism.
BTW, as a CPA, I deal with source documentation on a daily basis, thank you very much.
Now I can already predict a lame ass response from you :
"You're a stupid liar" Way to go Danica!

You mean other than stating his case and citing his sources?mvscal wrote:You have nothing on which to base an argument intellectual or otherwise.Dog wrote: Refraining from intellectual argument for the sake of insulting others.

Oh, that's what you've been doing? Seems to me that you've just been trying to get that dead gerbil out of your ass. Personally, I'd leave him there, cause he happens to give you a brain cell.mvscal wrote: If you wish to continue to make a fool out of youself, I will be happy to continue shitting upon you.
But, let me get this straight. If I write a book, and completely copy a passage from another book VER BATUM, and I don't give the original author any credit, then according to you, I did not plagiarize!?!
Damn, I wish I could have lived in your world when I was writing all those papers in college. Life would have been much easier.

No, what matters are the reams of evidence spewing forth detailing her pitiful attempts at "scholarship". As Dog said (see, a cite), lifting passages nearly word for word and not citing the source is the freaking DEFINITION of plagiarismmvscal wrote:You seem to believe that "stating your case" and "citing your sources" is all it takes. "Done deal". After all, the seriousness of the allegations is what matters not the factual basis of those allegations.

I've never said her books aren't sourced. They do have sources and footnotes (although investigations have proven those inaccurate too). The cases at point though, were not sourced.
My definition of plagiarism came directly from Websters Nonth New Collegiate Dictionary. I don't know where you pulled your's from.
My advice: Give it up. Your bias is obvious, your ignorance is stunning, and your arrogance is laughable.

Her own publisher admits that the passages in question were not footnoted.mvscal wrote:To present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source is the "freaking DEFINITION of plagiarism". A restatement of a limited set of facts is not plagiarism by any definition.
You two dimwits also claim that her works are not footnoted or sourced which of course is a blatant lie of shocking idiocy even by your pathetically moronic standards.

So the passages rehashed word for word are source materials?mvscal wrote:You quite clearly haven't a fucking clue of what you are talking about.

Well, you convinced me.
Convinced that you are on crack. Convinced that you when you read things you don't believe, your brain in unable to comprehend them. Convinced that your best arguments in support of anything consists of calling people child molestors or simply suggesting they masturbate.
Well, NEWS FLASH: Yes, I masturbate. But I digress.
Regardless of the literary quality of the NUMEROUS passages that she copied, the bitch plagiarized. Only providing sources for some of her material doesn't change things.
