What on fucking earth went wrong with your brain, to make you think this, at any point, would go well for you?

Wanna post that link/quote where I said that Intel made computers?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Been through the manufacturing plants(which until today, YOU didn't even know existed), I can tell you the intersection where the new HQ is, I can rattle off some of the campus' adresses by heart, and which ones make which compnents, and which ones perform which tasks...

Yet you somehow figured I'm not familiar with even what type of products they make?

Props on being a fucking moron, Mikey.

Next time you stick your foot in your fucking ass...just leave it there and take your lumps.

I mean seriously -- you didn't know where Intel based its operations, you even argued the point that Intel doesn't make anything in the USA...and here you are, trying to look informed and intelligent.

Clever.

Reading comprehension much?

Scroll up dipshit. I asked if you think they build computers in the U&L and you answered with Intel. And before that you claimed that Intel was a "computer manufacturer".

Talk about sticking your foot in your ass. :meds:

You're embarassing yourself here, buddy. I think you'd better call it a day while you still have a small shred of self-respect left. Anybody else would have slunk off by now with their tail between their legs, but you obviously wouldn't even know when you've banged your own head into a wall enough to turn your face into a bloody pulp.

Gee. The "reading comprehension" card...always a crowd pleaser...especially when it's played buy a guy who used a quote from somebody else's post and attributed the statements to me.

VERY clever.

Newsflash, since you're obviously fucking retarded, Mikey -- nobody "manufactures" computers(the person who mentioned "computer manufacturers" was BtH-BTW). Computers are "assembled."

The components inside them(and the cases they go in, for that matter) are "manufactured."

Maybe it's a simple matter of your "reading comprehension" that's giving you trouble?

Or, maybe it was your zeal to pat yourself on the fucking back(since goodness fucking knows nobody else here is ever going to) for stepping to the big dog and granting yourself some BODE that's causing your delusions?

And to the original point... if the U&L got wiped out, there would be a MAJOR shortage of computer components for a while, or at least decent ones that you'd actually want to use.

Beleeee dat, dumbass.

But no, really Mikey...tell me more about Intel. Like about how they don't build stuff in the USA anymore...that was a great tale, but you could probably do better with the embellishments next time.

Intel has fabs all over the world. That said, it is enjoyable watching Dins claim that the world revolves around the U&L.

Intel is a "computer manufacturer"

The reading comprehension card works just fine when it so obviously applies.

Again, I asked you if you think they build computers in the U&L, and you answered with INTEL.

BtH asked you which computer manufacturer is in Oregon, and you answered with INTEL. And now you're claiming that computers aren't "manufactured". Can you make up your mind please?

All your ducking, spinning and diving ain't gonna change any of that. But it's sure fun to watch you drilling a deeper and deeper hole for yourself.

And BTW, I know plenty about Intel. I grew up practically next door to where the company was started, and I've owned stock (thanks a fucking lot 2001) since probably about the time you stopped sucking on your mother's teats.

And while you're at it, please show me where I ever claimed that Intel "doesn't build stuff in the USA anymore".

I won't be holding my breath.

I guess I'll use this as a reminder that the vast majority of you are VERYVERY fucking stupid, and if I want to interact with the really fucking stupid ones, I'll need to spell out every fucking detail, like the fact that Intel makes COMPUTER COMPONENTS which, believe it or fucking not, are quite vital to the assembly of complete computers).

Your attacks on me are based upon the idea that I gave you credit for having an IQ higher than that of M2 on acid...MY FUCKING BAD).

And let's review just how fucking stupid you are, Mikey --
Mikey wrote:You think they actually build computers in the U&L?

This is "building a computer," you unbelievably ignorant dickweed. I'll stop even trying to educate you on this matter, the reasons being twofold --

A) You're a fucking idiot,

and

B) I wish you were evn less familiar with computers than you are even at present.

Fucking moron. I'll never overestimate your reading comprehension again.

BtH asked you which computer manufacturer is in Oregon, and you answered with INTEL. And now you're claiming that computers aren't "manufactured".

See, that's because I gave BtH enough credit to understand how complete computers came to be...a mistake I will NEVER make with you again. Congrats on reaching War Wagon-level stupidity. Pay to play.

Generally, if your state has to actually pay people to live there, there might be some issues.

I'll check it out myself, though. Have a very tenative plan for a fishing trip there with a buddy(Alaskan native, from Juneau, many moons ago) in a couple of years. We'll see...one of these days.

BTW - No sales tax in Oregon. No income tax in Washington, along with little-to-no property tax. You must be getting your tax info from Mikey or something.

Dinsy, you couldn't be a bigger or more attention-starved dumbfuck.

I'm amused that you are bringing up the concept of kicking ass, given your storied history of repeatedly being on the wrong side of said concept. Without the U&L label, you'd have even more of nothing.

Moreover, to suggest that anyone would brag about kicking your ass is pure comedy gold. People tend to brag when they accomplish something, not when they go through everyday motions.

You should see a doctor about the case of Idon'tknowwhatthefucki'mtalkingaboutitis that seems to plague you. I fear it's detrimental to your only outlet of personal validation.

But as you were. Resume backpedaling.

It's true. Intel has a factory that builds computers, and it spans the entire border so you can't cross from one state to the next. They manufacture 99.9% of the world's computers there.

So, say, there's no POSSIBLE way someone could live in Washington and do their shopping in Washington but commute to a job in Oregon?

Uhm, hello?

Wanna think this one through again, or should I point out your (obvious) folly now?

Heck, let's go with "now" --

So, if a person were to "live in Washington," they'd be paying Oregon property tax...why?

I suppose if someone were to own a second/resort/rental home in Oregon while living in Washington while working in Oregon, then your scenario is plausable, however unlikely.

But...that's not what you meant, was it now?

C'mon, be honest.

But, why (besides the stupidity inherent in Vantuckians) would anybody who lives in Washington and works in Oregon pay a 9% sales tax(plus whatever they charge as a "meth tax") to buy shit that's in a store they pass every day for 9% less?

After reading this crap, I'm not sure how in the FUCK the words "reading comprehension" and "backpedaling" were EVER sent my way.

Unbelievable.

Geez, and here I was thinking that me and BtH were discussing the pros and...pros of tsunamis killing and maiming californians. Little did I know that I was really being recruited as a substitute teacher for a fucking special ed class.

The majority have

I imagine having a bunch of the U&L's pinko R&D Geeks swept out to sea would pretty much suck but there's always a smart Indian or Pakastani to fill the void in a time of disaster or cutbacks ect.

OK, I guess your convoluted scenario works.

But, a couple of inaccuracies --
Believe the Heupel wrote:Someone shopping in Washington-do they have to pay Washington sales taxes? Why yes, I believe they do!
Why, you believe wrong.

I've got an Oregon Drivers License in my pocket that says I'm exempt from Washington sales tax(although it seems like anymore, not too many retailers have the card-thingy you sign. Hell, last time I asked for my exemption, the moronic bitch at the counter had no idea what I was talking about). In the Old Days, you just got a day-permit thingy on your way into Hell.
Someone working in Oregon-do they have to pay Oregon income taxes? Why yes, THEY DO!
"Have to" is a fairly strong term :winky:
Why would they shop near their home in Washington as opposed to near their job in Oregon? Possibly because the grocery store is closer to their house in Washington?
Sure...except that's not how it works. They shop in Portland on their way home. That's just what they do, unless they need emergency/small items. Why wouldn't they? We're talking about a 9% freaking difference. If a family a four goes through $250 worth of groceries a week, that works out to....a really big bag of meth every week.
I do find it strange that you run down Californians then act just like one-assuming that no other place is worth living in.

Sure...but see, the difference is I'm right.

What's great is that this is a pathetic attempt at a diversion from you claiming that no major tsunamis hit the US mainland for eighty-bajillion years and my correction of your reliance on incorrect facts.
For what it's worth, I'd consider building the microprocessor pretty much the important part of building computers and will concede the point that if half of Oregon went under the water, the price of sweatshop-tailored sneakers, flannel shirts, and computers would probably go up.

Y2K wrote:Funny thing about having seen all those Intel slices of Silicone.

Almost funny story -- The big expense with building processors and the like is the tooling of the plant, rather than the actual production of the chips themselves. Because of this, Intel is awfully tight when it comes to quality control of their finished products. Even the slightest percieved flaw, and the entire batch is tossed. Sometimes, these "flaws" are very minor, and would have no effect on the function of the product.

So, a while back, a friend and his BIL were working away at Intel(I believe one of them inspected parts for QC). The wires that connect the processor to the clampy-thingy on the motherboard(yeah, nice technical terms, Dins' brain) were just a hair too short on a large batch. There's no way it would have affected performance, and there's really no way anyone ever would have even noticed...we're talking a thousandth of an inch or so out of spec.

But these guys didn't see any reason why perfectly good P3's should end up in the trash. They figured they would be better used if they were sold in very large lots for a very cheap price to computer dealers and whatsuch, through E-Bay.

OK, so my use of foreshadowing isn't very good here. You can go ahead and finish the story yourself, or read on....it'll be the same conclusion.

Yeah, that was a great and profitable plan for a long time. A very long time. Right up until the time the FBI showed up on their doorsteps.

I don't think either is working at Intel anymore, believe it or not.

I'll tell you what, though -- the local tweekers(whole fucking bunch of them running around the Aloha area) just have absolute heydays dumpster-diving behind Intel after-hours. Heck, I've heard of people scoring "Intel Computers" right out of the dumpater there.

Actually, there's all sorts of secondhand/seconds electronic crap to be had for next-to-nothing around these parts. Not that I ever have any use for any.

Wait...no, it won't.

Anyone ever notice how Meds never actually smacks anyone, and never even really joins a pile-on?
