OH come on, lighten up. It's political satire.

You post a constant stream of personal insults to everyone here whether they deserve it or not. I see No reason why a political cartoon that mimics you in frame three( as the email sender) can't be left here.

Besides, that cartoon hits pretty close to the truth, don't you think? It mostly bashed the people you hate.

I should have said "Your truth", meaning the whole armchair warrior theme.

Two comrades sharing war stories. Ain't nothin' wrong with that.

We're both soldiers mv. We're just in "different" armies.

yeah oooh! BFD there, Marty. Being in the canadien military must be such hazardous duty. One has to be so careful not to trip over a pothole during the warriors day parade. One might damage ones uniform or get an owie.

Yo, Phibes...you ever "been in the trenches"?

Trust me kid, once you've gotten a few Head Of State visit disruptions, or even a Summit (like I was lucky enough to), you're already got that "thousand yard stare".

Ah, the famous "Sit On a Barstool and Bitch About the State Of the World" Division. I believe that they are tied to the "Perpetually Stoned Hippies With Asses Melded to Couch and One Hand in Doritos" Brigade.

Ah yes, mighty warriors, they. You can find their disgruntled troops serving lattes and crullers at your local Tim Hortons, after having traded in their berets and turtlenecks for an apron. You can see their seething anger building as they wipe the crumbs off of yet another table...

...fear their impotent wrath!

The depths of ignorance displayed on this board never cease to amaze me. Brilliant thread Q. :meds:

Interesting, on topic link.

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/07/30/D8J6KBBO0.html

An Arizona lawmaker who serves as an intelligence officer in the Army Reserves will begin a five- to six-month tour of duty in Iraq in late August.

Republican Rep. Jonathan Paton, a freshman legislator noted as the top advocate for a new state immigrant smuggling law, said the Army told him Saturday that he was going to Iraq to work in military intelligence.

The 35-year-old Tucson native said he volunteered for the duty last year because he needed to back up his support of the war with action. "You should kind of put your money where you mouth is," he said.

The first lieutenant said he also was inspired by a fellow officer from Arizona who returned home from Iraq to care for her husband after he was wounded by an improvised explosive device. He said he was moved by the drive of the young couple to eventually return to duty.

Paton, who is running for re-election, will miss the primary and general elections. He said his campaign is in solid shape and that his colleagues have offered to carry some campaign duties in his absence. He added he would likely miss a few of the first weeks of the 2007 legislative session.

Paton represents parts of three border counties and proposed an immigrant smuggling law that the Legislature passed last year. The law has been used in one county to prosecute migrants on conspiracy charges for hiring smugglers to bring them across the border.
I can hear the spin cycle rev up though.

Wow here's another.

There's a reason why that story was "newsworthy".

Think about it.

It has been 3 fucking years since this war started. Unless the recruiting center is on Pluto, they should have figured out how to sign up by now. That VERY few have speaks volumes.

Again, your conclusion is based solely on .... let Webster's help you out, because it seems as usual, you don't even know .... what you don't know.
Main Entry: ig·no·rant
Pronunciation: 'ig-n(&-)r&nt
Function: adjective
1 a : destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society>; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> b : resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence <ignorant errors>
2 : UNAWARE, UNINFORMED
Just because things aren't in the press, just because you don't read .... "35 year old politician denied entrance into the ARMY due to past medical issues", you don't think it happens.

It does, I know, first hand. But don't take my word for it, go check it out for yourself and try enlisting.

Yea, and just because you don't read ... "35 year old Internet geek gets hand job from supermodel", you don't think it happens?

Christ Tom, you have some anecdotal evidence you would now like to bring to the table? Some friend of a friend who knows some 3rd rate Virginia political hack who tried to sign up but couldn't because he has anal warts? Come on, answer the question Claire.

Just answer the question. You implied that you know "first hand" that some pols are getting rejected due to medical issues. Are you now saying that is not the case?

No I'll admit only to not writing effectively.

The point is. My first hand experience is with moi. Not first hand knowledge of a politico, sans my amatuer status and propensity to comment on political items. I do know, it is a shameful feeling, being unable to serve our country in need. With that in mind, I infer an aspiring politico of the age of service, which for the army is now up to 42, who tries and fails wouldn't make a big deal of trying.

Now if said politico succeeds, then by all means, it will be in the press. Their press corps will make sure of it.

The ones that fail, it will only take a small bit of investigative journalism, I'm sure.

Tom, don't kick yourself too much. This country needs old guys like us on the front lines like it needs an end times provoking mental case in the White House. Ooops, I guess that was a bad example.

I'm just saying that our time is past. Sadly for you, when your time to serve happened, this country wasn't being "held hostile" by a bunch of raving neocons. In fact, back then we were actualy trying to AVOID a repeat of Viet Nam.

But that being said, for your argument to hold water, that means the VAST majority of neocon politicans under the age of 42 are unfit to serve in the millitary. Or, they are chickenshit cowards for not backing up their convictions.

What's your problem, B?
Is that the way you treat almost-veterans?
By spitting on those who might have served in some foreign war, on their return?
