Tom Tomorrow is the best cartoonist on the Interwebs.

The entire cartoon is a piece of fiction about somebody being "wrong" and being held accountable to a penguin. The guy draws real well, and the cartoon is funny. Nevertheless the statement it is making, is incorrect.

Is the author held accountable for spreading incorrect information ? Seems the author holds others' accountable.

Can somebody link me to where it was said that it would be a cakewalk? How 'bout to the part where middleast democracy would flourish according to a certain time period?

I got just one fukkin' question for TT. Just how the fukk would he handle it? Continued arab appasement/looking the other way? That got us to 911.

Not saying that GDub has handled it all well. He hasn't. Dismantling the entire Iraqi military on day one was a huge fukking blunder. It has made everything else difficult. But, I would still take the current mess over there over us sitting on our hands waiting for the next tower to collapse.

I think the content of the cartoon is up for debate. I think smackoholic said it best about the first "lie", i.e. Iraq being a cakewalk or the entire "War on Terror" being a cakewalk.

My God you're absolutely .
More than a year ago, Kenneth Adelman, a prominent national-security official in the Reagan Administration who now serves part time, with Richard Perle, on the Pentagon’s Defense Policy Board, wrote a piece for the Washington Post. Its title was “Cakewalk in Iraq,” and its payoff went like this: “I believe demolishing Hussein’s military power and liberating Iraq would be a cakewalk.
WRONG

Guy writes an unofficial editorial piece.

And all things considered, the actual dethroning of Hussein was very successful.

No, I was awake in 9/2000 when Clinton, Gore, Kerry and the gang felt Iraq substantial enough a threat to consider military action.

Lastly, being greeted with "flowers" is hardly calling for a cakewalk.

Actually, the correct response to 9/11 would have been to get the guy responsible for it, i.e., Osama bin Forgotten. Our fools' errand in Iraq distracted from that.

I think Tom in VA's point is that it's easy to play the armchair cartoonist and take easy, cynical pot shots at complex problems.

You could say the same about SNL, the Daily Show, Rush Limbaugh, etc.
