2006 DEATH POOL STANDINGS...AND OTHER SMACK

Post by Luther »

Well, it is time to update the standings for the 2006 Death Pool. Hopefully everyone's summer is going along as planned, minus the huge heat surges the USA is experiencing. Even though I haven’t posted for a couple of months, I have come in regularly and did some reading. I read more and post less when I’m not inspired.

Our Leader: THE SEER

Abu Musab al Zarqawi; age 39, blown to bits. 100-39= 61 plus the 10 pt. bonus point for correct mode of death. Sub Total: 71 points

Tookie Williams; age 51. 100-51=49 Seer predicted his death by “electricity overdose” but California uses Lethal injection. Sub Total: 49 points.

Total for the Seer: 120 points. Has Kirk Douglas, John Wooden and Jerry Lewis on deck. Nice job, Seer

Second Place: Jake Taylor

Since Jake’s other board nick didn’t sign up, he’ll get the points. Jake had Red Buttons who died of natural causes at age 87. 100-87=13 plus the 10 point bonus for a total of : 23

Third Place: Bobby42

Bobby grabbed Don Knotts who assumed room temp. at age of 81. 100-81=19. Bobby selected no cause of death (COD) for any of his picks so his total is 19.

4th Place: DamnTheCowboys

DTC had the last surviving Titanic member, Lilian Gertrud Asplund who dried up and died at age 99. 100-99=1 He predicted she’d “just kick the bucket” and I’m giving him the bonus points. Total: 11

We’ve had some near misses so far in this half of the year. Zyclone has Arial Sharon who is being kept alive with machines…88 has two possibles in Fidel Castro and Saddam…BBMarley has his falling out of the tree candidate, Keith Richards, Cicero has Dick Cheney who had the barrel pointed in the wrong direction and he also has a shaky Gerald Ford…Jsc810 had Richard Pryor die just before the year turned over so he got no points…Gunslinger predicted Luther’s right ass cheek…Bobby42 is waiting in the wings with Robert McNamara…

I don’t see anybody really catching the Seer. The winner does win $20, so please be prepared to provide some type of name and address for me to mail the winnings to. This is a winner take all contest...no money for second place. I will send the winner a PM on Jan. 1 and I will provide my email address for him/her to send me the info. I may copy your picture but I’ll never post your name/addy…ask any of these people for my sincerity: Mace, Jay in Phoenix, ML@Coyote, b.t. aka theArtist, Toostoned and ChargerMike.

Other Observations:

The board grand Poobah, Dinsdale, still is eating everyone's lunch, while still making time to provide expert advice on all subjects ranging from apples, to decks to screws to wine to beers, to deep water lakes, to Bend to music.

Back from his board retirement is Van who's nearing his old style mode of running up 50 posts a day. Since Annie/IB asked to be banned, Van has found new spampostingfodder with the likes of TIC, TVO and a few others.

mvscal is still pretty much slapping the politically correct/liberal/I love towel-headed people around the forums. Basically if you want to challenge the cusser, you'd better have a well developed background in HISTORY. If not, he will buttfuck you in the mouth and tell you that you're are a dumbfuck etc.

MikeTheLabRat has had the summer off as he is a teacher, and he's pummeling most if not all challengers. I laugh when I see some posters trying to argue anything along the lines of Science, Theory, Math, Religious History and such with him...He is polite, but he will simply crush you with knowledge. People, you have to know your limitations.

The angry GODS of Positive and Negatives are trying to balance themselves out for now but it appears T1B will have to suffer with lk_pick for awhile. Props to the .net for getting her out of there, but they still have to suffer with Irie. Actually I'd trade pick for Irie, even if I had to rack him once a week.

So, while I was gone I see that a few names just don't appear anymore. JHawkBCD hasn't posted in months. I can understand it though, ...who'd show up to have smack run at him after alledgedly boning the pickster? Gunslinger/aka IndyClown has evaporated too...Fraudo is also gone, which is fine by me. Posters, mods and or Admins, any news on these people?

Oh, please post your picture if you can. I did see that MLCoyote has re-registered here the other day. We exchanged PM/email and it is the real ML, so...welcome. The odds of getting ML to post here again is probably along the lines of 89-11 that he won't. If you don't want to post 'yote, I'll understand.

Rip City

p.s. Otis sir, ML said you can't register using the @. It just seems so odd seeing his name without the @. If he posts at a later time can we get this added to his name? TIA

Hell yes.

Indy was given a timeout, but has been free to post for some time. Fraudo is done after pulling the "I'll call your supervisor" card with our resident G-man.

19 for Don Knotts and if everyone else on my list buys it:

Robert McNamara, 89
Ernest Borgnine, 88
John Forsythe, 87
Earl Campbell, 50

I've cleared 105 points. Maybe best shot for 2nd or 3rd place by years end.
