Was this an act of "Islamic Terrorism" or not means little to me. It was an act of violence that specifically targeted Jews. What his motivation was or if he was/is affiliated with a larger organization is moot. The perception of this act is Muslim v Jew and being concerned about the possibility of others acting in a similar manner is not only valid, but necessary. There are a lot of nutcases out there and some people get courage from the action of others. The fact that someone 3000 miles away shot up a Jewish Federation office has caused my community to react (as has every other Jewish Community across the nation). We have requested assistance from the local police as well as the local FBI office. We are forunate to have a retired police detective helping us with additional security measures. This may be "just another news story" to you, but it's a lot more than that to me and millions of other Jews.
