Best website?

Post by jiminphilly »

I'm looking to upgrade the current POS desktop computer I have at home. I mostly use it for gaming so my main concern is upgrading my processor. My current has a 1gb of RAM but only a 1.9ghz processor (Athlon).

I realize I need to find one that is compatible with my motherboard so I may be purchasing a new one of them as well.

Am I better of going to Best Buy etc.. or buying the components I need and doing my best to assemble it myself?

And finally, what is the best site to purchase components?

Thanks.

Newegg.com has some of the best prices out there. CDW is awesome if you are a business.
Also if you are looking for a PC and don't mind a userd one, look at DFS (Dell Financial Services) for used/refurbished off loan PCs that are 1 to 2 year old.
