Almost since the outbreak of the fighting on July 12, the Bush administration has insisted that a cease-fire and steps aimed at creating a long-term peace be worked out simultaneously. These included establishing an international peacekeeping force and requiring the disarmament of the Hezbollah militant group.
"We need to end the hostilities in a way that points forward a direction for a sustainable peace," said Rice, who provided little precision about what a compromise resolution might say.

No cease fire until Israel's military objectives have been fulfilled.
Seems to me Isreal has bitten off more than they can chew and are panicking. What will they do when this 'international peacekeeping force' doesn't show up?

I really don't get why the world is crying for the Lebanese.
The fuckers sat there as rockets were fired from within their borders. Did they expect Israel to roll over? It wouldn't be prudent now, but when this ends and the furor subsides we need to rub this fact in the world's face.

Let the bodycount speak for itself and then see who's fighting for their survival.
Hezbollah has no right to survive.

Hezbollah took Israeli soldiers as POW's, and then Israel started bombing Hezballah, who were cowardly hiding out amongst civilian populations.

Hezbollah is getting its shit pushed in and they need time to rearm and reconstitute.
Continue to pummel the ever loving fuck out of Lebanon.
Hezbollah isn't getting its shit pushed in, the population is. The christians are getting pummeled and the druze are throwing their support behind Hezbollah while puppet Prime Minister stands there with a shit eating grin on his face
The bombing campaign is a disaster - read Haaretz, there are splits in the military over it. Visions of a decade long slugfest/stalemate ala 82 is the debate - this thing was over before it started.
