Does that explain that avatar of yours? ;)

Anyway, back on topic, open air stadiums kick ass, domes suck and the Super Bowl should be played in open air stadiums in the north just to make Poptart hate the NFL more than he already does.

Football is a sport that is meant to be played in the elements. Let the pussies in MLB worry about a little rain.

That fog bowl game was unreal. I remember trying to watch that on TV and just being amazed that anybody could throw the ball.

One game in KC I remember watching was on ESPN I think. It was raining so hard that there were rivers running down the aisles in the stands. Nasty muddy rainy crap. Beautiful football weather......

Yup, it was on ESPN. Sunday night vs the Seahawks. I remember frantically calling my bookie
about 2 minutes before the game went off as I got a shot of the rain. THE UNDER, THE UNDER!
GIVE ME 200 TIMES ON THE UNDER!! Never seen rain like that. The start of the game was
actually delayed for about 45 minutes. The book was giving away money that night. The
over/under was 50 or so... can't remember it exactly The final was 17-3, maybe? Regardless,
I never enjoyed a bet as much as that one. It was a lock....

I was at that Sunday Night Seahawks-Chiefs game. The start wasn't delayed but, rather, the game was stopped for nearly and hour in the 3rd Quarter. Lightning everywhere and like seven inches of rain in an hour and a half!

Warren Moon was the QB for Seattle and neither team could hold on to the ball. The stadium security cleared the upper deck and everyone huddled down in the wings on the first level until play resumed. There were rivers running all through the stands and I think I even saw Mr. Hanky in a hotdog boat floating by. When play resumed there were only like 20,000 people left. Unreal.

Chiefs won like 17-6.

Funny story from that night. A buddy of mine was Sales Manager for the Chiefs and during the delay he took me down into the far reaches under Arrowhead where there are MALE and FEMALE "holding tanks" for the drunks who get in fights during the game. A sort of "CHIEFS JAIL" if you will.

They are held there until after the game when a paddy wagon takes them away. This one dude was like Hannibal Lechter, growling, throwing up, crapped and pissed pants - basicall liquid coming out of every orifice in his body. The floors are slanted towards a drain in the middle for just such occassions! Hilarious!
