Questions for ff geeks
Questions for ff geeks
SA, LT, LJ, TB, arrange the 4 in any order, but they seem to be the top 4 running backs. After them? Just me, or is this a shitty year for running backs?
From the mocks I have read ...... Reggie Bush, and Deuce seem to be even. 80% have Reggie going in Rnd 1, Deuce in Rnd 2, or vice-versa. Anyone here think one will dominate? Will both combine for 3500 and 40? At this time, Im avoiding them both like the plague.
Feel free to pose your own questions as well.

The McAllister/Bush issue will be interesting to follow. I'm going to imagine Bush won't be getting a lot of the carries in the red zone maybe other than on third down. McAllister is still probably the better back as far as running between the tackles but you have to be weary of his injury problems. I predict Bush will end up with more total yards but McAllister will score more touchdowns. If you were in a league with scoring is more valuable than yards, go with Deuce. However, I wouldn't rely on him as being my #1 back. I'd take him no earlier than the second round...same with Bush. Neither guy should be considered a #1 back on a fantasy squad.
As for the big four RBs...I still don't buy that Alexander will drop off that much with the loss of Hutchinson to the 'Hawks line. He's still going to get the key carries from all parts of the field and should score another 20+ TDs. Barber and Tomlinson will be guys that will be the dual threat and get the key carries for their team but I'm going to give Tomlinson the edge because he scores more TDs. Johnson is the same mold as Alexander...most his yards will come from the ground game but I see him scoring 20+ TDs again. Until Portis got hurt, I would've made him a member of that elite group for this year but I think he's a risk with his injury possibly hindering his play all year. It's a toss-up at #1 between Johnson and Alexander because I think both will put up very similar numbers...I'd rather have the second pick in the draft so I don't have to make the decision. I'd put Tomlinson at #3 and Barber at #4. Beyond that...it gets a little more tricky.

This is why I picked Peyton with the 7th pick in my league I play in every year. I was amazed Peyton was still available at #7 with the shit group of RB this year.kcdave wrote:After them? Just me, or is this a shitty year for running backs?

I wouldn't say it's a shit group of RB's - I just think like any position you have Tiers of Elite players
IMO .......This years Tiers
RB Tier One
LJ
Shaun
LT
Tiki
Portis - depending on his shoulder
QB Tier One
Manning
Way too many questions about Brady's lack of receivers, Palmers Knee to put either of those guys in T1
WR Tier One
Steve Smith - Though his Hammy is a concern
Chad Johnson

Good assessment...there seems to be a little bit of uncertainty with pretty much any star player because of injuries, changes on the offensive line or a new starting QB.
Question marks for the best fantasy players:
*L. Johnson...key losses on the offensive line and it's the first season where he's clearly the #1 back in KC, no longer an unknown
*Alexander...loss of Hutchinson and the Madden cover jinx
*Tomlinson...new starting QB, will defenses key more on him than before?
*Barber...honestly, no real question marks but does have a history of fumbles and can he possibly repeat his numbers from last year?
*Portis...shoulder injury, how much will it effect them this year?
*Manning...loss of James puts more pressure on the passing game
*Brady...Branch holding out
*R. Johnson & C. Johnson...Palmer's health
*S. Smith...injury prone
*Owens...he's friggin' nuts, matter of time before he melts down
*Moss...at odds with Brooks already

How about Sleeper Picks?
Corey Bradford looks like the starter opposite of Roy Williams in Detroit. (Mike Martz's wide open offense)
Reche Caldwell in NE, especially if Branch continues to holdout.
Maroney looks better than Dillon.
Hank Baskett in Philly.
Depending on the condition of Jamal Lewis - Musa Smith

When has the receiving corp of Tom Brady ever been an issue with him? He continually has a bunch of #2 receivers to throw to yet he put up his most passing yards in his career (while playing injured).KC Scott wrote: QB Tier One

Hasselbeck moved into the top tier this year, IMO.
Holt?WR Tier One
Steve Smith - Though his Hammy is a concern

I think his injury is a major concern this year. He was bothered by it during the season last year and it's giving him problems again this year. I think he slips a notch because it is a reoccuring injury.mvscal wrote:Owens?jiminphilly wrote:Holt?WR Tier One

-He's getting a second MRI.mvscal wrote:Major concern? Not. Ike Bruce used to have a "recurring" hamstring problem...well, until it stopped happening anyway.
It's not like he's Fred Taylor.
-He hasn't played a pre-season game yet with Bledsoe/Romo
-Since 1999 TO has only played 1 full season.
The way TO worked to get back on the field for the SB as well as other injuries proves he is no slacker when it come to rehab YET the injury is bad enough to require a second MRI. I think it's a major concern at this point.
