As one who lost my home and saw my friend, family, and coworkers scattered, it is not a day I recall fondly.

However, I will not sit around and mope, weep, or bitch that "woe is me". Nah, fuck that shit. That's for losers. I've picked myself up, moved to Houston area, and started anew. One day I will return to my home country but for now, I'll make it through, and even be better off, because there simply is no other option in my mind.

How in hell could they be? When you build a city below sea-level, you're just asking to be flushed. I drove thru there 3 weeks ago (bad idea) thinking I'd spend a few bones there and help with the tourist recovery. Man, that place is still fucked up worse than some third world countries.

Why in hell anybody would want to re-build there is beyond belief.

What cracks me up about the whole "rebuilding" effort is that there are THOUSANDS of perfectly good abandoned homes up here in the Northeast that are ABOVE sea level that with a minimal investment could be rehabed into homes for those who are currently living in FEMA trailers.
