What was the greatest TV series finale ever?

Post by jtr »

What do you think is/was the best series finale for a tv show?

A lot of magazines and critics list
MASH as #1 in this category but there have been a lot more recent and within the past 10 yrs tv shows that have ended in just as good or memorable ways.

Seinfeld was hilarious from the first episode to the last.

Cheers was great.

Friends was alright.

Each of the more recent star trek shows have all sucked balls.

Will & Grace and Fraiser both went off the air with barely a whimper.

E.R. when it finally ends will be a good one.

NYPD Blue was awesome.

The ending for "Newhart" was, hands down, the best series finale.

IMNSHO, the series finales for MASH & Seinfeld were complete letdowns.

The Seinfeld finale was a stroke of genius, but most people didn't understand it. It mocked the way most other sitcoms end with very heartfelt and cheesy good-byes. Seinfeld was never a show that had any of that, so why would the finale be any different?

Miami Vice.

Nuff said.

I've never seen a better photo montage of a show like the one they had to end Vice and the song was perfect for it.

I'll second that. It was very witty and totally unexpected.

Though I've never seen it, I heard St. Elsewhere was pretty sweet.

The last episode of "Kids in the Hall" was pretty good.
