IIRC (and I could be wrong about this), only the games played on Saturday are included in the Pick'Em. This year, aTM/Texas is on a Friday. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/scoreboard?w=13&c=allIndyFrisco wrote:Terry,

All that being said, and if you have played the game before, A&M/t.u. is ALWAYS game #1 on the week of T+1. ALWAYS.

Lee Corso on ESPN Gameday...
This morning predicted Cal beating West Virginia in the national championship, says he picked us cuz 'even if they lose to Tennessee, they could blow through their next 11 games!'...
Corso did pick USC in 2004 and Texas in 2005 to win the NC, didn't he?
I'll take his vote of confidence!
He's not alone... St. Louis reporter calls Cal for the NC.

In consideration of that, and upon further review, I'd offer the following revised suggestions:IndyFrisco wrote:Terry,
T(can be Thanksgiving but also Thursday+1 is always on a Friday.) The Pick'em Games, for this week, are due by Thursday night. It's the only week the Pick'em is due NOT ont the Friday night at 23:59:59.
Week 14: Three Pick'Em games -- the ACC, Big 12, and SEC championship games. Army-Navy has potential for a blowout, and there are only 15 Saturday games this week, IIRC (assuming that the C-USA and MAC championship games are played earlier in the week), so more than one Pick'Em game assures a greater variety among the picks in the other games.
Week 3: Delete LSU @ Auburn from Pick'Em game and replace it with Michigan @ ND. Auburn has potential to appear in a Pick'Em game four times, so I'm looking to delete one game for them as well, and this is the most attractive week for matchups. And sorry if this sounds homerish, but if ND even comes close to meeting expectations, they should be in the Pick'Em game at least once this season, and besides 'SC, this is their highest-profile game and opponent. If not for that fact, under ordinary circumstances, Oregon-Oklahoma, Nebraska-USC, Miami-Louisville, Clemson-Florida State, Florida-Tennessee or even Taco Tech-TCU would otherwise all be worthy Pick'Em games.
Week 8: With T+1 as the Pick'Em game in Week 13, Texas has the potential to appear in the Pick'Em game five times, which is too many. Of those five, under the circumstances, Nebraska is the most likely candidate to be eliminated as a Pick'Em game (as opposed to Big 12 championship game, RRSO, or tOSU). Replace it with Iowa @ Michigan.

i like Cal+2?
i also like usc/ark under. with usc winning a close one.(didnt look at my betting sheet, i like under 50ish)
i'm still on fence about taking wazu + the points, they couldn't stop anyone last year, and auburn brings a power running game, which will exploit wazu chump defense. i'll have to watch and enjoy, no bet fer me Auburn in a blowout is my final pick

I was looking at CAL's schedule over the last few years.
I had to go back to 1993 to find what would be considered an "impressive" road win out of CAL...it was against an 8-4 UCLA team.
I can't imagine why everyone is so high on this team going into Knoxville and winning. Don't you generally rate a team's chances of winning on the road on...how they've done on the road?
This is a "stat" that gets overlooked way too many times.
I may be really putting myself out on the line here for a potential ass kicking (if Cal wins), but seriously...based on the facts, based on what we know, how could anyone think CAL will win this game? Is it solely due to UT's rather..."mediocre" 2005 season?
Is it just due to Cal's current ranking? Does everyone really put that much stock into preseason rankings? You know, just because the media says they're really really good, doesn't mean you don't have to think for yourself.

'swhat I'm sayin, bro.
Kal's official Web site has past schedules all the way back to ... 2004.
I suppose I could have downloaded the media guide and spent a lot more time on it ... fuck that. I decided I had more important things to do, like rearrange my sock drawer or watch my grass grow.
Tedford is a decent coach and they have talent, allegedly. If they win on Saturday, it will be big ... for them. It might cause a few national media idiots like Corso to start blowing Kal farts out of their pieholes, but if history is any indication, it shouldn't last much longer than a few weeks.

If you're looking for CF history and stats...that site is the only way to go...even though it's "unofficial." I've been using it for about five years.

Thanks. That site is now bookmarked.
And tell Jimmah to quit it, too. I'm about to lose my small intestine here laughing. You fuckers are mean and stuff.

Cal was 1-10 the year before... and Michigan State was ranked # 17 at the start of that game.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:So, m2, you have a chance at actually attempting to prove my point wrong (not that there are the necessary facts available), and you reference a 4-8 team as an "impressive" road win?
Are you fucking retarded? How is that making your case looking any better, as it applies to the UT game?

m2, we have extended history to look at here. So why base your opinion on "before the facts?" That doesn't make any sense. Facts are, we know CAL, a 7-5 team, beat MSU, a 4-8 team.
Is this really your best justification for an "impressive" road win in "recent" history?
If so, you're just playing to my point.
CAL hasn't had a road win to do a double-take at in over ten years.

Cal turned you into a 4-8 team, bro.
It's just what Cal does...
