Did they just replay last years snoozefest? Why not let them play later on in the year when both teams have their offenses figured out? Both teams looked god awful tonight,i'll give em credit for not giving an inch and agrreing to open the season but my god what a lousy game!
Hell, as recently as 3 or so years ago, they played this game annually around mid-Oct. Games were good then. Well, at least MOST of 'em ('sup one of those years in the late 90's?)
I enjoyed it, slopyness and all. I can enjoy just about any rivalry game, regardless of how "uneventful" the gameplay is. The offenses were bad, yet nobody seems to want to credit what were two really REALLY fast and strong defenses.
T'weren't the REALLY fast and strong defenses though that caused all those dropped snaps, dropped hand offs, missed blocks, illegal procedure penalties and dropped passes right when they could least afford 'em...
Nobody's arguing that. The point here is that if this game was played later in the year like it oughtta be then we'd still have the great defenses but we'd also get a couple of offenses who at least play like they recognize each other in the huddle...
