I'd like to tape this to Frank Gore's locker myself. Not that I have him in two of my FFLs or anything.CARDS HAND PICKED THE 49ERS FOR OPENING WEEKEND
A league source tells us that the NFL threw the Arizona Cardinals a bone by asking the team to identify the opponent against which they'd most like to christen the Cards' new digs. And the Cardinals specifically selected the San Francisco 49ers.
Why? Our guess is that the Cards regard the 49ers as the softest opponent on a schedule.
It's hard to disagree. After all, the Cardinals swept the Niners in 2005, the first two-game sweep by Arizona of any of its current division rivals.
From the 49ers' perspective, this should provide an extra level of motivation. After all, who wants to be known in NFL circles as the Arizona Cardinals' bitches?

Well, you will get to keep your ass then, cuz the Cards will beat the Niners this weekend.mvscal wrote:I'll LMAO when the Niners kick the shit out of the Tards.
Gore is a frail bitch. I'd keep an close eye on Micheal Robinson, if I were a Gore owner. He's got a lot of power and does all the little things well like picking up the blitz.

He does? How do you know? He played QB in college. And I'll give him a pat on the back for picking up the blitz when he's not playing 3rd stringers.mvscal wrote:I'll LMAO when the Niners kick the shit out of the Tards.

mvscal is not far off the mark. I think Nolan is tweaking the RB depth chart , penciling Robinson in @ #2 over Hicks, though that isn't set in stone yet . He could be used in goal line situations, which is I guess good from a FF perspective. Nolan has enough faith in all 3 RBs (Gore, Hicks, and Robinson) that warrented him trading Barlow, who BTW, had an awful debut with the Jets during his first pre-season game , fumbling on his first or second carry. Being that the Niners are going to use the ground game a lot this season , there is potential value there for FF guys ( and Gore is projected as a big FF sleeper this season ).mvscal wrote:Gee, I don't know. Fuck off, idiot.
As far as the game , the 49ers have to dominate the line of scrimmage , put lots of pressure on Warner ( who has never lost a game yet to the 49ers , both as a Ram and Tard ) , and run the ball down thier throat . But it still won't be enough . Especially with thier defensive front 7 not able to generate any kind of pressure on any line so far during pre-season , and going back to a 4-3 front .

And I'm guessing it will be the same story when it's the Raiders turn at getting stepped on by the Cardinals.
