OU / Washington
Well, that was certainly an improvement...
PT looked good once he got in a rhythm. I want to have Malcolm Kelly's babies, and Fred Strong looked good too. Great hands... Our line still needs a LOT of work, but overall, it was nice. The D finally started wrapping up after that first play, which made me physically ill. Then they started making big plays. Other than big plays, we pretty much owned them...
In other words, exactly what I predicted... I rock. :D
Anybody else have any thoughts on this one...?

Congrats, Wags. Good win.
I just hope the OU team that came out in the 2nd half starts the game next week. If the team that came out in the first half today shows up, we're going down.
Improvement from last week, but only in the second half today.
PT had a beautiful pass to JJ and Strong lived up to his name. Wtf was up with OU giving up that late touchdown though?
I know, I know, probably a bit to nit-pickey. Still too much inconsistency over a full game for me to feel comfortable about them going into Eugene next week.
I'll be interested to see what happens tonight between the Ducks and Fresno, after tOSU-Texas.

Yes. Yes. And Yes.Believe the Heupel wrote:Turnovers and turnover differential will get us killed. Especially the fact that we've thrown three INTs and haven't snagged one. That's an issue. INTs are MUCH more important than fumbles and the statistical correlation between INTs and winning is much more pronounced than it is for turnovers in general.
I just hope they've got it out of their system.
I agree about PT -- He is looking a LOT better than I thought he would.
As an aside to the game, at halftime Michael Dean (who makes announcements about promotions, etc., during the broadcast, for those who don't know), must be catching Bob Barry's senility.
At halftime, dude says, "At halftime, the Sooners are tied 13-13, with the Washington Redskins.
Amazing how well OU does against pro teams these days. Dumbass.

You mean Bonnie and Sheri DIDN'T kiss?
I gotta lay off the Ny-Quil...
And, since I got a Frozen-Style breakdown, I'll do the same...
1) We looked a LOT better today than we did last week. BUT, UAB is a better team than Washington, IMHO.
2) Paul finally seems like he found a rhythm. He still needs to learn not to pull a TCU, which is what I now call his penchant for over-throwing wide-open receivers downfield. Also, he's got to learn to feel the pressure better. Our D bailed his ass out, BIG TIME, on that fumble he had in the shadow of the freakin' goalpost.
3) We didn't let up today. The last couple of years, when we HAVE gotten a lead, it seems like we've laid off of the gas a bit, but today, we were scoring right up until the end. I like that. I like the old Billy Tubbs adage... the Spurrier... call it what you will... if a team can't stop you, that's THEIR f*ckin' problem, ya know?
4) Our D, ESPECIALLY our safeties, have got to learn to contain better... you already mentioned it, but it merits a re-mention. They're giving guys the sideline, and that's gonna get us KILLED against more talented teams. KILLED. However, we started swarming the ball and wrapping up better in the second half and maybe they've gotten their "tackle like a bitch" phase out of their system.
5) I'm currently seeing DJ Wolfe as a Pee Wee Woods, Eric Bassey type...
This is not, nor will it ever be, a positive.
6) I think that we're going to continue to improve with each week. We're a young team, and the more film we get for Stoops and co. to break down, the better these guys will get. I just wish we had one more game before Oregon.
7) Are we even playing ANY zone right now? I'm not seeing it if we are.
Overall, I think we're going to be okay. I also still think we can win the South, maybe even the conference, and compete in a BCS bowl, but I'll know a lot more how I feel about that in about 3 hours... If nothing else, I want to see the backup QB get some PT in some blowouts...
GO BUCKEYES !!!

Not a bad showing for the Huskies. They continue to perform better against quality teams. I'm not much for moral victories but this is a far cry from the beatings we took two years ago. I think you'll see the Huskies getting over the hump on some quality teams this year. We are headed in the right direction. Congrats to the Sooners on the win.

The Huskies, not the Redskins (despite OU's radio promo jackass), played a good game today, especially in the first half.
You guys will be back. Good luck the rest of the season.
