Well, it went better than I'd hoped

I didn't think that the Bills would get blown out by the Pats, but I certainly didn't expect them to be as competitive as they were for as long as they were. Losman actually looked pretty good for most of the game.

Some "experts" had them pegged for 2-14, but I think they'll be closer to 6-10 or 7-9. Not exactly stuff to cheer about for most teams, but us Bills' fans have had to listen to the "rebuilding" mantra pretty much every year since Kelly retired.

Continuing to show up in this forum to represent in the face of what you describe as the likely future it itself rackable.

We ('Skinsfans) have had to do that drill. Only a couple of teams have fans who have had nothing to be ashamed of the whole time we've posted to the same boards.

Had me worried there Mike. Turned on the game and they were down 7 already. I was like What?? Happy to see them nut up and pull off the win, but you guys definently put up a big fight. Losman is still learning but looks like he might finally get it. Definitely a positive for you guys to build on. Gillette has been the Bills house of horrors for a while now. Nice to see a tough game from the Bills again. See you in October!!

Division games, especially early in the season, can be weird. While I could make a better case for NE than Buffalo as AFC SB reps, there are certain things that creep into the head to head considerations every year. With parity, there isn't the hugest gap between the Bills and Pats, so I wouldn't be shocked to see an upset. Division upsets are surely more likely these days, but in the not so distant past NFC East fans will remember a time before realignment. The Cards were much much worse in the late '80s and early '90s than in the last 10 years but they at times would manage to take a game here and there from vastly better rated division foes despite their overall horridness. It's all about seeing the same team twice a year every year.
Sometimes, though less likely, there is the opposite effect: pure ownership within a division. For way to long here recently, the 'Boys had the keys to Redskins Park, no matter how bad they were.

But getting back to this AFC East situation... nobody was really hyping the whole division like what you heard surrounding the NFC East. So all of the N-East plays out of division and goes 1-3?!?!? ...and look sad at best in going about it.

How 'bout them 1st place Eagles!!!!

And every A-East team whether in victory or defeat acquit themselves with better form.
Go figure.
