Padres-Dodgers Sept 15-17

Post by atomicdad »

While this series doesn't have the history as the Yanks-Sox going on this weekend, it is pretty big here in So-Cal. Padres coming in 1/2 game behind the Dodgers for the division and 2 or 2 1/2 lead I think in the wild card. Make or break for my Padres, if they lose 3 of 4 or get swept I think its over for them, if they split, take 3 of 4 or sweep then the race is still on. These should be some solid games, Dodgers have the bats and the Padres have one of the best pitching staffs in the NL this season. Law of averages would say its not good for the Padres, so far they have made the Dodgers their bitches with an 11-3 record so far this season and 5-0 at Chavez gash. But that was then this is now.

Tonights matchup goes to two experienced vets, Wells vs Maddux. This is must see just to watch these two old guys go after each other.

OK, that was either the most unbelieveable comeback or the most unbelieveable collapse I have ever witnessed, or will ever witness.

RACK the Dodgers. The Padres wimped out. After tonight, they probably don't deserve to make the playoffs.

Holy mother of all that is Dodger Blue. That was unbeevable. Four consecutive bombs in the ninth inning? Almost unprecedented. Last time was in 1964.

Mikey, I've gotta rack the Pads any way. No quit in them. This race is going down to the wire.

RACK Nomar!!

I have little to cheer for in H-Town these days so might as well enjoy an outstanding comeback win.

It's too bad the Eastern Sports Programming Network won't air those late night West coast games...sounded like that game last night was wild. ESPN has done a crappy job with how they've covered the pennant race this month. Did they need to show women's bowling last night on the ESPN2? I know they don't want to compete with their precious MNF coverage but I didn't watch more than 5 minutes of that last night since I was watching Tigers-Sox. Give me a doubleheader every night on either ESPN or ESPN2 until the end of the season. There are big games every night...give us what we want! It must be killing them that Red Sox aren't going to be playing in October. :meds:

I catch 'em all. The $$$ spent on the Time Warner baseball package was a wonderful investment. 70+ games a week kicks much ass during the summer months, with three to five West coast games starting at 9PM CDT every night my time. It is allsum. I'm gonna miss her come October.

Four homers in a row, on five pitches. It looked like freaking BP out there. Both pitchers in that inning - Adkins (where did they get this guy?) and Hoffman - were throwing meatballs that my wife could have hit.

I guess the Dodgers were just meant by Allah to win this one.

Good Christ, RACK the Dodgers!

We'll NEVER see anything like that again.

I now believe.

Jesus loves the Dodgers, and they have the guts to go all the way this year.

To all of you, Trevor Hoffman had a sore shoulder. "Sore" for Trevor would be agonizing misery for you guys.

Nope, just love great baseball. And I would cheer for Nomar if he were in the Evil Empire's jersey. Trust me, I hate the Dodgers no less today than yesterday.

No shit. Congrats to jiminphilly. Exciting stuff, and possibly the first time in a long time for you guys. Hope to see 314 native Howard here for game 1.

Would be a nice series.. especially with Howard and Pujols going head to head. Pujols would get the nod from me based on his experience.
