MNF in the Crescent City
Ok, admit it...Green Day and U2 were pretty cool.
"Wake me up when September ends" is just a great, great tune...and they belted it out quite nicely. If you missed that performance, you missed something indeed.
Let's hope the game lives up to the pre-game post Katrina hype, but regardless, RACK! N'awlins for once again being on the map.

Thinking about it this morning I really wasn't looking forward to the New Orleans post-Katrina love-fest.
After hearing some of the commentary, and the piece featuring Joe Horn especially, I've done a 180°. I talked to my parents who live there - and who are anything but football fans - and they were excited about getting home and watching "the big game" tonight. I got goosebumps a few times during the pregame show.
Props to the great city of New Orleans and its team.

Every time I've ever heard him speak, in any kind of open, improvised format, he has sounded like a complete and total dumbfuck. Borderline mentally retarded.the_ouskull wrote:Boy, Spike Lee doesn't like talking unless he's scripted it...
That's kinda sad. "A lot of stuff on Reggie's shoulder." It's cute. He's like a person, only with a more limited vocabulary.

Agreed.mvscal wrote: They need to shitcan these clowns and start the Nessler, Jaworski & Vermeil booth they had the 1st Monday. Someone needs to remind ESPN that this is primetime and those fuckheads aren't ready for it.
I'm not one to bag on the announcers because I usually don't pay much attention to what they have to say, nor care.
But these fooks suck out loud.

Aerosmith must have been booked.Truman wrote:Agreed. But this feel-good evening is, afterall, an NFL production.Cross Traffic wrote:When I think of music from New Orleans, U2 and Green Day do not come to mind.
How about some blues musicians or a dixieland band out there?
Btw, Dave Simms is calling the game on Westwood One, and they are actually talking about the game, on the field. I know, I know, simply shocking.
No way I can listen to these fuckheads on ESPN any longer. Hell, I turned in on at the start of the 2nd quarter and by halftime I already had my fill of "This game means so much to this city." Do these tards have any idea how trite they sound? I never thought I'd say this, but Theesman was sounding like a genius compared to Kornheiser. Jesus Christ, that guy is a walking sack of suck.
The Saints' double reverse for the TD was fucking sweet, btw. Rack Brees for the block.

'Sup Tim?
=============================
I'm listening to Led Zepplin.
The first 15 seconds of the Immigrant song synced up perfectly to that double reverse they ran.
I'm sure there is some deeper meaning to that.

Saints karma should have been like way...... way obvious. +3 home dog....... Shit. How the fuck did I miss that? Oh yea, they don't have a lot of talent. My bad.

Maybe next week, RF. The local blowtorch is busy this evening completing its obligation to KC's Triple A affiliate. :roll:RadioFan wrote: Aerosmith must have been booked.

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
Falcons, Scott. Falcons. F-a-l-c-o-n-s. Not Vikings. Shit, no wonder you're losing

No playoffs this year - Eric's league doesn't even keep score *wink *wink (we're 2-1)
or stats (he has 9 sacks so far this year )
Ross is playing Fall baseball - and there's only one other team in the Saturday double header league
It's like fucking ground hog day every weekend.
We do need to slug down a few and get caught up

Holy cats, Scott! Ever think about combining the teams and kicking the collective ass of the 60-or-so Lee's Summit fall-ball teams just to your southwest? Just a thought...KC Scott wrote:

You start a thread, and never know just what you'll get.
Led Zep lyrics?
Great, great stuff...and I didn't know that you were a Zep head like myself.
Now, get your ass off the porch, drop on down to the CFB forum, and jump on the Mizzou bandwagon that I'm driving.
I need a co-pilot.
