Great Big Gobs

Post by Mikey »

Anybody remember this song?
We used to sing it, oh 90 years or so ago when I was a kid.
Please fill in the missing part because I can't for the life of me remember.

Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
Mutilated monkey meat
Concentrated birdie feet
da da da da dada dada dada da
And I forgot my spoon.

no. thanks to the information age, the lazy bastards don't need to do stupid shit like we did to entertain themselves. And it really sux for them. When was the last time you saw a kid make a tennis ball cannon or a go kart. You sure the fukkk don't see it out here in middleclass whitebread suburbia.

Mikey,

About the same 90 years ago, this is how we sang it...

Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
Mixed with monkey meat
Ooowy goowy birdie feet
Me without a spoon, la de da de da
At least I have a straw

Ok I just turned 30 and I distinctly remember this song. Maybe from elementary school? How long ago was this?!?!?

I remember Ang's "straw" version!

Oh for cat's sake...

Thought I'd forgotten the ditty; now, I can't get it outta my head! Argh! Curse you, Mikey!

The version I grew up with:

Eighteen tons of ooey-gooey gopher guts
Minced-up monkey-meat
Thirty-dirty-birdie feet
Isn't that a gooey treat?
French-fried eyeballs
Rolled-up in a bottle of blood
Made without my spoon!
