In 1998, during post-production of his film Payback, Brian Helgeland got fired -- 86ed -- pole-axed. The ending of the film was re-shot, narration was added, key scenes were cut and a character was recast. Seven years later he found himself in a basement at Paramount Studios with a shelf full of film retrieved from a salt mine somewhere in the Mid-West. See how he put his bad-ass vision back together as he presents Payback - Straight Up - The Director's Cut.

It wasn't promoted much when it came out. It's a remake of an old movie from the 60's. But it's a solid flick. Definitely worth the $4 to rent. Supporting cast includes Lucy Liu, Kris Kristofferson, James Coburn, David Paymer, Maria Bello, etc. Good movie.
I hope its not too late for this thread to end up in TRotS.
