OU fans, let's get it on

Post by Adelpiero »

sig bet?

i have no clue about this game, Pinkel has only had to coach 1 game, and they lost to a mediocre aTm team. (which MU players said was a very bad loss, it woke them up, i think it might be worse than losing to new mexico last year)

If OU can shut down the Te's, they can stop the offense, if Coffman and Rucker are making plays, it leaves franklin to make plays downfield and MU should be able to put 24+ points on the board.

this is a game to see if this team can beat decent teams. With Pinkel behind the wheel, anything is possible

Color me [shocked].

Here's a clue.

[bradhuskerwags] Mizzou is gonna' pound the living dogshit out of OU and send them back to Norman with their tails between their legs. [/bradhuskerwags]

Then again, despite their offensive woes, the Sooners do have a stout D. Are they up to stopping Chase Daniel and 5 dangerous receivers? Can they bottle up Tony T? In Columbia?

How badly will Mizzou miss their sacks leader Brian Smith after the injured hip? Not much, I'm hoping. This is a very deep and talented squad on the D-line.

Tigers 27
Sooners 20

orcinus, you better come get you some. Visions of 2002 still dance in my head.

I think this will be the 2nd most entertaining game on Saturday. Both offenses will be tearing it up no AD means 10x more passes and a crappy ou secondary means Mizzou is going to gain a lot of yards.

2nd call-out.

I hopes that you're not too pre-occupied wringing your hands over the putrid state of the NFL forum to answer it.

Here, I'll just write a preliminary sig for you to keep in mind should you fail to step up, Soonerboy.

I'll put it in my sig, mebbe.

i don't think that's true since KSU and CU ran the ball effectively on MU--i do think you'll see Paul Thompson run some zone read and keepers to keep MU's LB's honest. i do agree that OU's DB's and LB's may have a long day.....i shoulda kept Vito's comment about that in the quote.

You are correct but only to an extent. They both ran the ball well, but only after MU had a nice lead and was only too willing to give up time consuming ground pounding.

aTm, on the other hand, ran the ball at will with that monster back of theirs.

Suffice to say that it'll be in the Sooners best interest to keep the ball on the ground. If they try to air it out, they'll be decimated by a ferocious pass rush and a ball hawking secondary.

i'd be willing to bet that Mizzou's D is the 4th best OU has played this year. but, OU has not shown the ability to stop people who can spread the field and make the lb's and db's actually make reads....so i'm not going to make fun of you for Homerically epic goofterms like "ferocious pass rush" and "ball hawking secondary".

And I won't make fun of you for having to edit that post.

You got a call on the game, or do you just like re-reading the words that you type?

Lotta' mealy mouths like you 'round these parts.

I guess it'll take an NFL forum regular to drag a fucking prediction out of you dweebs.

I know how to rip your head off and shit down your neck ala NFL SmackBoard style, and that's exactly what I'll do to any pussies here that can't put up more of a fight than you.

i don't care if Missouri beats OU 145-0, that is the stupidest thing i've ever read.

rip off your head and shit down your neck....."SmackBoard Style"? What? ooohh. man, i'm scared by some asshat on the internat rolling out that kind of stuff.

what point is exactly you make with that homo-erotic murder nonsense?

I guess that works for you NFL people.

"Rip off your head and shit down your neck?"

Who the fuck are you? Slow down, Swede... this isn't Heartbreak Ridge.

How the shit are you making statements like "ferocious pass rush and a ball hawking secondary?" Have you looked at your schedule lately?

Let's see... there's 1-6-1 Murray State.
2 -7 Ole Miss.
4-4 New Mexico who played you to within 10.
The by-God, 5-3 Ohio Bobcats. Wow.
1-7 Colorado.
5-3 Tech... your first win over a team that isn't taking Special Ed football classes.
7-1 A&M, who BEAT you, and finally...
4-4 K-State.

You've beaten two teams with a winning record, only one of them away from Columbia, and both of THOSE teams are 5-3... not exactly world beaters.

If you wanna start running smack, beat somebody that's worth a shit that doesn't have A&M in their name.

What brand of delicous smack do you have planned next, master?

You want a prediction? I've got one for you. Mizzou finishes the season 8-4. If I'm right, I look brilliant. If I'm wrong, we'll just chalk it up to learning from the self-proclaimed master at the "ferocious pass rush and a ball hawking secondary" school of smack.

Fuck, you're dumb.

I agree with e, this could be a blow-out or very close. My heart says OU 31, Missouri 24 but there is just so much still unknown about the Sooners.

Fuck it, I'll stick with my Heart.

OU 31
MU 24

Oh, and this is for both defenses...

Jesus, that was two minutes of my life reading this Missy crap I'll never get back...

Let me add an edit if that's okay. Man that grammar police smack never gets old!

I'm curious as to the effect of Missouri missing their stud defensive end, who was 2.5 sacks shy of the Big 12 sack record. Obvious advice, run often to his replacement's side. I know some are still enamored with Missouri, but I'm still not impressed (same could be said for my team, I know). OU has problems, but I think they get it done.

i keep hearing this wanna be, overrated, etc bullshit. who the fuck is touting mizzou??? i picked them to go 8-4.

4-0 vs cream puffers
4-4 in conference, which could change if they win a game they shouldnt(@ nebraska), or lose a game they should win(see aTm game)

so who is exactly touting this team as a great team????

I started this thread by stating that even with OU losing major players, i don't know if MU can win the game. The coaching edge is so slanted to OU, that it could nullify the nice offense MU has. When Pinkel has to coach(see aTm game) he ends up losing to bad teams(see aTm).

Then again, it's about 1/10th the homer level of Insider.

Typical Insider thread:

"I think we can go 10-1 this year."
"I agree."
"Yeah, me too."
"Er, don't we already have two losses?"
"OREGON DOESN'T COUNT!"

Or

"James, how much money did Team X pay Recruit B? There can't be any other explanation of why Recruit B who lives in State X would go to Team X over Oklahoma."
heh.

i was really hoping for a MU win, but not for the reasons many MU fans had. i was hoping Pinkel could go 11-1, get a big head, and bolt for another program. Thus relieving MU fans from the shit playcalling, shit schemes, and assanine attitude pinkel has. His blame the players move has been worn out.

Like i stated, i thought OU would win, i changed my bet from 100 on MU to 50, Stoops had his team ready, and when MU made a run, Stoops got the roughing the kicker call, and went for the throat, putting the game away. They finally made Pinkel coach, and the typical coaching we have seen vs good teams was shown.

This finally puts the BCS and MU threads on MU boards to rest Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

OU came in, and wanted it more, shame they dont have peterson for rest of season, their defense is coming around nicely, they should go undefeated the rest of year and pickup a nice bowl bid.

congrats ou fan, has to be nice seeing pinkel on the sidelines when you face a team. I know a bad KU team is awaiting gary and his great gameplan. 2 years ago, the KU linebackers were calling every play MU ran, you could hear the lbs yell out run right, pass, screen, etc. before the bal lwas ever snapped.

Daniel is a good one and I'll be glad to see him off our North rotation 2 years from now. Pinkel is a mystery to me. MU seems to have pretty good athletes on D, but just don't seem to ever be very good.

also, Rucker had *one* catch?
""On a lonely planet spinning its way toward damnation amid the fear and despair of a broken human race, who is left to fight for all that is good and pure and gets you smashed for under a fiver? Yes, it's the surprising adventures of me, Sir Digby Chicken-Caesar!"
