I have never sen a team hold as much and not get called as the eagles. There were numerous takedowns. The one on Hovan was the worst non-call I have ever seen. He was actually tackled from behind....no call. McNabb throws a TD.
No wonder you have the best offense in the league. You hold on every play. Terrible.

Holding happens all the time in the NFL.. it's all about technique and not getting caught.T REX wrote:I have never sen a team hold as much and not get called as the eagles. That sort of thing used to happen to Oakland sometimes when they ran the west coast offense.
The west coast's short pass is essentially it's version of running the ball.
You can't milk the clock as effectively with that style, and you tend to foster an offensive line that is more 'soft' than a grind-it-down-their-throat line.
Myself, I had a love-hate relationship with the west coast offense.
There's some good and bad that comes along with it.
Bill Parcells says that the most telling stat line in an NFL game is rushing attempts.
He's probably right.
Last week, for example, the team that had the most rushing attempts won 13 games out of 13 played.

Ok.....being completely objective.....Hovan was tackled from behind by an Eagle o-lineman(Runyan I think). No...literally dragged down from behind right in front of McNabb who danced away(probably saying what a great block). It happened repeatedly all game. I hope they crack down on that unit.jiminphilly wrote:Holding happens all the time in the NFL.. it's all about technique and not getting caught.T REX wrote:I have never sen a team hold as much and not get called as the eagles. I honestly didn't notice it and the Eagles have been flagged for quite a few penalties this year (at least it seems that way) so I'll take a game where they get some breaks for once.T REX wrote:Ok.....being completely objective.....Hovan was tackled from behind by an Eagle o-lineman(Runyan I think). Just watch a replay of the TD he scrambles to his right and hits brown(i think) in the endzone. Hovan comes right up the middle breaks free and then is flat out tackled. Everyone near us in teh stadium were screaming for the obvious hold. No call. This happened at least 5-7 times on key plays. I understand if it has no affect on the actual play but these are times when a sack likely would have occured. Oh well...I'll take the hail o'field goal.

"just the one" Try at least two! On one play! Maybe more, but not a single person including the refs missed the 2 that happened right in front of them! But I digress…Shit does happen!KC Paul 3.0 wrote:NOPE, just the one against your Donkeys in '03. Shit happens.godzilla2002 wrote:Nope! Your fucking team won on a demoralizing 62 yard field goal. Shup up and enjoy it ok? ;)T REX wrote:Just watch a replay of the TD he scrambles to his right and hits brown(i think) in the endzone. BTW, how'd you like Westbrook's run at the end? Pretty sweet, huh?

No I'm telling you to take the blinders off and put the box of sugar down and realize your team got away with as much holding as anyone.
It was great outside of all the holds.jiminphilly wrote:Your fucking team won on a demoralizing 62 yard field goal. And BTW, Trexie is right. I know it'll sound like sour grapes, so there wasn't any reason to bring it up, But Ellis & Ware were held the same 5-7 times at least. Ellis in particular
