ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A Republican congressman accused of abusing his ex-mistress agreed to pay her about $500,000 in a settlement last year that contained a powerful incentive for her to keep quiet until after Election Day, a person familiar with the terms of the deal told The Associated Press.

Why do you pay $500K until after the election for a house seat that probably pays,Im guessing $150k per year.Id say that money better buy a couple of elections worth of mum. Maybe our good congressmen had a way of enhancing his pay with bribes so only one term of hush money was payed for?

I have no doubt that should the Dems take control of one or both houses of Congress, and especially if they win the White House in '08, that it will zealously begin again. It's just that now, with more Retardlicans in office, there's more opportunity for them to fuck up, and they're taking full advantage of those opportunities.
