Election results tailor made for conservatives

Post by The Seer »

Many conservatives initial reactions to this week was gloom and doom. They should take heart. Things couldn't have turned out better.....

* True conservatives were not happy with Bush. He spent like a Dem, is embarrassingly weak on the border/illegals, and he is not a communicator.

* Bush developed an arrogance with having the Presidency and both houses. He felt he didn't have to keep the citizens informed; or to explain his decisions.

* The Dems offered zero action plans themselves on any issues - the war, ecomony, etc. Their strategy was for the past 6 years was to point and say Repubs are bad, we are good.

* With power in both houses, maybe now we will finally hear what they have to say and if they actually have ideas or strategies.....

* Getting rid of Rumsfeld when he did ensured the Repubs this loss - more Bush arrogance and stupidity. But this will mean that Bush and his cronies will get bounced out of Wash and a now Republican leadership will emerge. Repubs that will hopefully return to the foundations of their party.....See ya Rove, and the others....

* So in the next 2 years, when amnesty passes due mainly to the Dems, with help from Bush, when the economy starts to tank due to tax increases, when the Dems go witch-hunting, when the Dems disrespect the military, when the Dems are Dems, the new face of Repubs - possibly led by Romney or someone of that ilk, will appear and the Red zones will flare up....

In sum, the Dems finally have to say something, new leadership will appear in the Republican party, and the presidency will stay where it should......

P.S. Iraq needed a change from Rumsfeld, we'll see if Gates is the guy or if Bush pulled another boner......

The Democratic strategy going forward should be to push as many of the conservative social issues back on the states as possible. If the red states want to have their own little hate fests, then let them vote on their gay marriage amendments or whatever the hell they want. Meanwhile, the Dems need to hammer on issues relating to national security, economic equity and fiscal restraint.

At least Republicans can legitimately play the victimized underdog card this time.
