Saturday PickEm Challenge

Post by Shine »

Or as it has become known, "The Mook Invitational".

Thinking of tweaking it this year and figured I'd let the masses toss out any ideas for consideration. The main thing I'm thinking about doing is making it more of a "confidence" style pickem. Nothing is set in stone and I'm open to suggestions so if you've got em, let's hear em.

"Our staff is going to ensure that anyone who attends this University and wears the Indiana uniform will make this privilege among their highest priorities and not treat the opportunity as an entitlement,'' Crean said in a statement. "We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

I like the new title!!

By confidence, do you mean ranking the games in the order you like them? I think it would be fun, but it would probably be a nightmare for you.

I almost think you should a Saturday/Sunday combo...have games from both days with the deadline on Friday. This will allow you to have the pick of the litter of games each weekend. Try to get 15-20 games each week of varying difficulty. I like the idea of confidence maybe have a dual competition with picking the winners and then another one with the confidence points.

I just want to be able to make in every week to play.

I gave up on even attempting to participate in the football pick 'em this year. Luckily my doctors have got me on a couple of new meds and vitamin supplements that I am not feeling as worn out all the time as I was before.

I like Shoalzie's Saturday/Sunday idea. Confidence picks are a good wrinkle as well.

Confidence picks means a lot of tallying work, Shine. How about picking against the spread?

That's not a bad idea...almost go to the a la carte format that Indy uses for football. Post 25 games or so and have us pick 10 or something. I guess it all depends on what works best for our man Shine. I never had a problem with the game before...just thought it would be better to include all the big games from the weekend since sometimes Sunday has the better matchups than Saturday. I think CBS has something to do with that on occasion.
