...has pulled in his first class... a Top 15 class, headed by the younger brother of Taylor Griffin, Blake Griffin. I think that, if he ever gets a freakin' point guard on campus, that I'm gonna really start to like this coach. I wish I'd seen more VCU games last year... Is he just a stone-cold Coach K clone or what?

If you go back and look at the VCU box scores that were up over the summer....they played nobody inside (due to injury) and avg'd about 65 PPG. hardly "Billy ball". though i did like the 2-2-1 press we play....that was pretty nifty and effective.
i don't think this years Sooners shoot the ball (outside Neal) well enough to run a play for and the motion O is going to struggle....kinda hard to tell since the CMSU ran man the whole game....and i expect we'll see zones in conference. Hopefully Capel has some better idea how to beat a z than Kelvin's "we just didnt' knock down shots" approach.....when you are trying to start the offense 3 steps above the top of the key it makes beating a zone tough.
watching the exhibition game against Central Mizzou I didn't see a lot structure to the O after about the 5 minute mark of the first half.
it will make the Cleti at Insider cry, but Carter should start instead of Crocker.

I think that his coaching was influenced more by his father and Uncle than Coach K to be honest about it. His father is a legend in the Fville area.

while I'm upbeat about Capel and suspect we'll be pretty average this year...
I can't hold back anymore: i've been reading at OUInsider that he's already in the same group as Wooden, K, Dean Smith, etc. but probably even better. If you could make money with hyperbole (pro and con) OU basketball fan would be Bill Fucking Gates.
sheesh. I can't wait to see that board after we drop a few conference games.....if not before with Memphis, Nova, and Alabama all OOC.
